2010–11 Eerste Divisie
The Eerste Divisie 2010–11 was the 55th season of the Eerste Divisie since its establishment in 1956. The previous year's winners were De Graafschap, who were replaced by last-placed 2009–10 Eredivisie club RKC Waalwijk. The league featured 18 teams, two fewer than its previous season, following the exclusion of HFC Haarlem from professional football and the relegation of FC Oss to the 2010–11 Topklasse. On May 12, 2010 BV Veendam was declared bankrupt due to financial troubles, with FC Oss consequently expected to be readmitted into Eerste Divisie to replace it; however, the verdict was overturned later in June, and the club was thus allowed to play in the season with a reduced budget. From this season on, the last-placed team would be relegated to the Topklasse, and replaced by the winner of the newly established third tier. Eerste Divisie
The Eerste Divisie (, en, First Division) is the second-highest tier of football in the Netherlands. It is linked with the top-level Eredivisie and with the third-level Tweede Divisie via promotion/relegation systems. It is also known as the Keuken Kampioen Divisie due to sponsorship, while previously it was known as Jupiler League for the same reason. History The Eerste Divisie consists of 20 clubs, who play each other in a double round-robin league, with each club playing the other club home and away. Each club plays every other club once in the first half of the season before the league takes a winter break around the Christmas and New Year's holiday season. The second half of the season sees the same fixtures as the first half, with the stadiums changed, although the two halves are not played in the same order. FC Den Bosch
FC Den Bosch () is a football club from 's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands. They were founded 18 August 1965, as FC Den Bosch/BVV. They are the successor of BVV (1906) and Wilhelmina (1890). Their stadium is called 'De Vliert', an 8,500 all-seater. Ruud van Nistelrooy started his professional career at this club. Apeldoorn
Apeldoorn (; Dutch Low Saxon: ) is a municipality and city in the province of Gelderland in the centre of the Netherlands. It is located about 60 km east of Utrecht, 60 km west of Enschede, 25 km north of Arnhem and 35 km south of Zwolle. PEC Zwolle is a Dutch football club based in Zwolle, Netherlands. They play in the Eerste Divisie, the second tier of Dutch football, following relegation from the Eredivisie in the 2021–22 season. RBC, commonly known under its previous official name RBC Roosendaal, is a football club based in Roosendaal, Netherlands. Go Ahead Eagles () are a Dutch professional football club from the city of Deventer. Fortuna Sittard (; li, Fortuna Zitterd ) is a football club in Sittard, Netherlands. The club currently plays its football in the 12,500 capacity Fortuna Sittard Stadion and features in the Eredivisie. The club was established through a merger of former clubs Fortuna 54 and Sittardia, which merged as the Fortuna Sittardia Combinatie on 1 July 1968.
