Jens Jensen Gram
Jens Jensen Gram (12 February 1779 – 2 November 1824) was a Norwegian jurist and politician. He was born in Copenhagen as the son of Jens Gram. He studied at the University of Copenhagen from 1798, and graduated with the cand.jur. degree in 1804. He worked in the Danish Chancellery from 1806 until 1808, when he was appointed as acting district stipendiary magistrate of Ringerike and Hallingdal. He got the position on a permanent basis in 1815. He lived in Nes from 1808, and at Ask from 1816. He was a deputy representative to Norwegian Constituent Assembly in 1814, and was elected to the Norwegian Parliament in 1818 and 1821, representing the constituency of Buskeruds Amt. He served as President of the Odelsting. Due to a stroke in late 1821, he was not re-elected in 1823. Buskerud () is a former county and a current electoral district in Norway, bordering Akershus, Oslo, Oppland, Sogn og Fjordane, Hordaland, Telemark and Vestfold. The region extends from the Oslofjord and Drammensfjorden in the southeast to Hardangervidda mountain range in the northwest. The county administration was in modern times located in Drammen. Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. The municipality of Oslo had a population of in 2022, while the city's greater urban area had a population of in 2019, and the metropolitan area had an estimated population of in 2021. Harald Mathias "Mads" Gram (6 February 1875 – 1929) was a Norwegian physician. Personal life He was born in Drammen as the son of Jens Gram. He was a brother of Johan Fredrik Gram, a maternal grandson of P. A. Munch and a paternal great-grandson of Jens Jensen Gram, a nephew of Andrea Gram and a first cousin of Harald Gram. His aunt Nicoline was married to Eilif Peterssen. In September 1907 he married Irma Ingertha Schram, a well-known art historian. She was the younger sister of his brother Johan's wife Elisabeth. Mads and Irma's son Peder "Per" Gram, who became a barrister, married alpine skier Johanne "Hannemor" Dybwad; they had the daughter Kari Garmann. Johan Fredrik Gram (14 April 1868 – 27 December 1947) was a Norwegian chemist. Personal life He was born in Drammen as a son of Jens Gram. He was a brother of Mads Gram, a maternal grandson of P. A. Munch and a paternal great-grandson of Jens Jensen Gram, a nephew of Andrea Gram and a second cousin of Harald Gram. His aunt Nicoline was married to Eilif Peterssen. In October 1896 he married Elisabeth Cappe Schram. She was the older sister of his brother Mads' wife Irma. Career He finished his secondary education in 1887, studied in Kristiania and Berlin, and took the dr.philos. degree in 1892 at the University of Jena. Between 1898 and 1903 he lived in Fredrikstad and was a co-owner of "Fredriksstad Trækulfabrik", an enterprise trying to produce charcoal from debris from the sawmills. Jens Gram (15 November 1840 – 22 January 1912) was a Norwegian industrialist. Personal life He was born in Ask as a son of Johan Georg Boll Gram and Fredrikke Severine Mathea Stabell. He was a brother of Andrea Gram, grandson of Jens Jensen Gram and a first cousin of Gregers Winther Wulfsberg Gram. Through his sister Nicoline he was a brother-in-law of Eilif Peterssen. In July 1867 in Vadernes he married Julie Munch (1843–1928), daughter of P. A. Munch. They had two notable children, Johan Fredrik Gram and Mads Gram. Through Mads he was the father-in-law of art historian Irma Ingertha Gram. Career He enrolled as a student in 1859, and also studied forestry in Germany a couple of years.
