Jens Bolling
Jens Bolling (23 June 1915 – 13 December 1992) was a Norwegian actor and theatre director. He was among the founders of Studioteatret, and a well-known interpreter of Norwegian fairy-tales. Early and personal life Bolling was born in Levanger, as the son of saw mill manager Sigvard Bolling and Borghild Elnan. He grew up at the farm Brekke in the valley Maridalen north of Oslo. His mother died early, and his grandmother took her place. She was an eminent narrator of legends and fairytales. Also story telling among the farm workers and mill workers had influence on Bolling's later acting career. He had his first performance experience when he was seven years old, in a former hen house, playing Ludvig Holberg's ''Jeppe''. He was married three times; first to actress Liv Strømsted from 1945 to 1952. He was then married to actress Ingrid Bothner, and later to actress Marit Bolling. Studioteatret
Studioteatret was a theatre in Norway. It opened in 1945, shortly after the liberation, with Claes Gill as its first theatre director. Studioteatret is regarded as one of the earliest post-war artistic expressions in Norway, and most of its members later played important roles in Norwegian theatre. Studioteatret closed 25 October 1950, due to economic difficulties, and its members were spread to various other theatres. Background During the German occupation the theatres in Norway were subject to a nazification process by the German occupants and the Nazi collaborationist government. The Nazis established a school called "Statens teaterskole", and demanded it to be mandatory for everybody that wanted to work in a theatre. The school was largely boycotted by students. When the Nazi government took control over the theatres by arresting resistant board members and inserting supporters in leading roles, the theatres experienced a general boycott from the public. Levanger is a municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is part of the district of Innherred. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Levanger. Kjell Stormoen
Kjell Stormoen (24 March 1921 – 22 October 2010) was a Norwegian actor, scenographer and theatre director. He was born in Bergen as a son of Trygve H. Stormoen (1896–1971) and Hjørdis Henriksen (1897–1975). He was a first cousin of Guri Stormoen, and also related to Harald and Hans Stormoen. He was married twice, the first time to actor Elna Kimmestad from 1945 to 1972. He was educated as an engraver, but also participated in the dramatic society Bergens Dramatiske Klubb. He was a scenographer at the Trøndelag Teater from 1945 to 1948. After some time as a scenographer at the newly opened Riksteatret in 1949, he became an actor at Rogaland Teater in the same year. Øistein Bull Børke (first name sometimes Øystein, December 18, 1911 – April 1, 1975) was a Norwegians, Norwegian actor and theater personality. Life and family Børke was born in Oslo, Kristiania (now Oslo), Norway. He was married to the actress Gretelill Fries from 1943 to 1949. Career Børke debuted as a stage actor at the Oslo Nye Teater, New Theater in 1938. In 1947 he founded the Rogaland Teater, Rogaland Theater, which he managed from 1947 to 1949. He wrote the children's comedy ''Askeladden og kongsdatteren'', which premiered at the Centralteatret, Central Theater in Oslo in 1945. ''Krypskyttere'' (Poachers) is a Norwegian drama film from 1982 directed by Hans Otto Nicolayssen. the film deals with a conflict between the military and the civilian population over the rights to a military firing range. The Cold War is the backdrop for the story. The main roles are played by Jon Eivind Gullord, Hans Rotmo, Per Gørvell and Nils Gaup. The film is in black and white. Plot Martin, who is doing his military service, is sent out for shooting practice with his squad in his own hometown. Disputes between the locals and the military over the use of a firing range create loyalty conflicts for Martin. The villagers, led by Martin's father, disagree with the military about the right to use the area. ''Nine Lives'' ( no, Ni Liv) is a 1957 Norwegian film about Jan Baalsrud, a commando and member of the Norwegian resistance during World War II. Trained in Britain, in 1943, he participated in an operation to destroy a German air control tower. This mission was compromised when he and his fellow soldiers accidentally made contact with a civilian rather than a Resistance member, who betrayed them to the Nazis. The film was directed by Arne Skouen and is based on the book ''We Die Alone'' (1955) by British author David Howarth. In 1958, the film was nominated for an Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film and was entered into the Cannes Film Festival. ''Emergency Landing'' ( no, Nødlanding) is a 1952 Norwegian war film directed by Arne Skouen. It was entered into the 1952 Cannes Film Festival. The film depicts the Norwegian resistance attempting to hide shot-down American aviators from the German occupation forces. Plot An American bomber is shot down on the Norwegian coast during World War II. The airmen bail out and land at different locations. In spite of the German search for them, the Norwegian resistance picks them up and hides them in the attic of the local church, a center of operations.
