Dei Svarte Hestane (film)
''Dei svarte hestane'' ( en, The black horses}) is a 1951 Norwegian drama film directed by Hans Jacob Nilsen and Sigval Maartmann-Moe, and starring Hans Jacob Nilsen, Eva Sletto and Ottar Vicklund. It is based on the novel ''Dei svarte hestane'' by Tarjei Vesaas. Ambros Fornes (Nilsen) owns two large farms and runs a coaching house. On his farm he has four fit and shiny black horses. These horses eventually become the centre of his life, because his young and beautiful wife, Lisle (Sletto), is unable to love him like he loves her. She can not forget Bjørneskinn (Vicklund), the blonde boy she was once in love with. He wanted to be a poet, but decided on a life on the road when he could not have her. When the old boyfriend one day returns, it leads to a dramatic showdown. The family is about to fall apart, which will be particularly hard for Kjell, Ambros and Lisle's young son. Hans Jacob Nilsen
Hans Jacob Nilsen (8 November 1897 – 6 March 1957) was a Norwegian actor, theatre director and film director. He was a theatre director at Den Nationale Scene, at Folketeatret, and for two separate periods at Det Norske Teatret. Personal life Nilsen was born in Fredrikstad, a son of Otto Marquard Orning Nilsen and Sara Lorentzen. He married Sophie Munch Roede in 1958. Their daughter Grethe Nilsen was married to politician Knut Frydenlund. He died in Oslo on 6 March 1957. Career First trained as a mechanical engineer, Nilsen started his theatrical career as an actor. He worked as a stage actor in Bergen, Trondheim and Oslo. He was appointed theatre director at Det Norske Teatret from 1933 to 1934, and was theatre director at Den Nationale Scene from 1934 to 1939. His film debut was in ''Syndere i sommersol'' from 1934, and he also played in ''To levende og en død'' from 1937. Liv Uchermann Selmer
Liv Uchermann Selmer (January 7, 1893 – January 24, 1983) was a Norwegian actress. Selmer was born in Kristiania (now Oslo), the daughter of Karl Kristian Uchermann (1855–1940) and Bolette Hermana Schnitler (1864–1939). She married the actor Alfred Gjems Selmer (1893–1919). She debuted at the National Theatre in Oslo in 1913 as the wicked fairy Mørkøie in the Norwegian translation of Zachris Topelius's play ''Sleeping Beauty'' ( fi, Prinsessa Ruusunen). Espen Skjønberg
Espen Henrik Skjønberg (7 April 1924 – 26 August 2022) was a Norwegian actor of stage, screen, and television. Career Skjønberg made his first movie appearances as a child in the 1932 film ''En glad gutt'' and in the 1937 Norwegian classic ''Fant'', in which his mother also appeared. His stage debut came reciting poetry at the Norwegian theatre Chat Noir in 1945. He joined the Norwegian National Theatre in 1946 and became one of its most prominent figures, appearing in 64 different roles in the next 60 years. As late as 2006 he co-starred with Toralv Maurstad (who also appeared in ''Fant'') in an adaptation of '' Waiting for Godot''. Ingolf Rogde (14 May 1911 – 4 June 1978) was a Norwegian actor. He was born in Sande, Møre og Romsdal, and was married to actress Siri Rom. He was mainly known for his long-term period with the touring theatre Riksteatret. Rogde made his stage debut at Trøndelag Teater in 1937, and was later assigned with Det Nye Teater, Det Norske Teatret, Riksteatret and Rogaland Teater. He also worked for Radioteatret. Alf Ramsøy
Alf Ramsøy (13 September 1925 – 27 May 2014) was a Norwegian long-distance runner, cross-country skier, actor and farmer. He was born in Todalen, Surnadal as a son of farmers Jon Ramsøy and Ingrid Ramsøy, née Halle. As an active runner, his personal best times were 8:37.8 minutes in the 3000 metres (1955), 14:51.2 minutes in the 5000 metres (1958) and 30:46.8 minutes in the 10,000 metres (1958). In cross-country running, 8 kilometre course, he won silver medals at the Norwegian Championships in 1956 behind Øistein Saksvik and in 1957 behind Tor Torgersen. He represented the club IL i BUL. He won a bronze medal in the 3 kilometre course in 1954. He won Holmenkollstafetten and the Norwegian championship in 4 x 1500 metres relay with BUL. Lars "Lasse" Kolstad (10 January 1922 – 14 January 2012) was a Norwegian actor and singer. Active from the 1940s, he was known from many stage roles, but primarily as "Tevye" in ''Fiddler on the Roof''. As a secondary school student, Kolstad was president of the graduating class (''Russefeiring, russ'') council of his school, and eventually for all of Oslo. As this was in 1940, the Occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany, German occupation of Norway put a damper on any great festivities that year. In 1943 he had his début at Trøndelag Teater, where he remained until 1949.
