Jan Buzek
Jan Jerzy Buzek (27 March 1874 – 24 November 1940) was a Polish physician, activist and politician. He came from the region of Trans-Olza. Biography Buzek was born in Końska as a son of a peasant. He graduated from primary school there, and later from the German gymnasium in Cieszyn. He later decided to study medicine at Jagiellonian University in Kraków and graduated in 1901. In 1902 he became a municipal and miners' doctor in the coal mining village of Doubrava. He worked in Orlová, where he helped to found the Juliusz Słowacki Polish Grammar School. In World War I he served in the Austrian Army as a doctor. Buzek also lectured at various schools. From a young age he was active in Polish cultural and educational organizations, eventually becoming chairman of many of them, including Związek Harcerstwa Polskiego (The Polish Scouting and Guiding Association) in Czechoslovakia. Konská (Třinec)
(Polish: , German: ''Konskau'') is a village in Frýdek-Místek District, Moravian-Silesian Region, Czech Republic, on the Olza River. It was a separate municipality but later became administratively a part of the town of Třinec. It has a population of 1,598 (1 January 2008). The village lies in the historical region of Cieszyn Silesia. The name of the village is of cultural origins describing ''a village specialised in herding horses'' (Polish: koń). History The settlement was first mentioned in a Latin document of Diocese of Wrocław called '' Liber fundationis episcopatus Vratislaviensis'' from around 1305 as ''item in Conka''. ''Zwrot'' (meaning "The Term or The Phrase") is the main and largest Polish magazine in the Czech Republic, chief magazine of the Polish minority in Zaolzie. It appears monthly, with a circulation of 1,600 (2019). Antoni Dyboski
Antoni Dyboski, born as Antoni Dybka (5 June 1853 – 23 February 1917) was a Polish lawyer and activist. Early life and lawyer's career He was born in Racławice near Nisko as a son of peasant. He finished the ''gimnazjum'' in Rzeszów and graduated in law at the University of Lwów. In 1881, Dybka settled in Cieszyn. He was working in the notary office of Andrzej Cinciała, a prominent Polish activist in Cieszyn Silesia. In 1890, Dybka legally changed his name to Dyboski. After the death of Andrzej Kotula (d. 1891), another notary in Cieszyn, Dyboski became a notary substitute. In 1892, he became a notary. He ran his office in Cieszyn on the Stary Targ no. 141 (from 1892 to 1906) and on the Garncarska 3 (from 1906 to his death). Mauthausen was a Nazi concentration camp on a hill above the market town of Mauthausen, Upper Austria, Mauthausen (roughly east of Linz), Upper Austria. Emanuel Chobot
Emanuel Chobot (; 1 January 1881 – 7 June 1944) was a Polish trade union activist and politician. He was the chairman of the Polish Socialist Workers Party, the social democratic party active amongst the Polish minority in Czechoslovakia.
