JVG (band)
JVG (formerly known as Jare & VilleGalle) is a Finnish rap duo made up of Jare Joakim Brand (born 8 October 1987) and Ville-Petteri Galle (born 4 October 1987). Their style is often referred to as sport rap. Both Jare and Ville are passionate athletes and originally became famous for their unique and comical sports-themed songs, where they rapped about ice hockey, soccer, doping, Finnish sportspeople (such as Jari Litmanen and Teemu Selänne), snus and playing NHL video games. In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, JVG held a virtual reality concert on the first of May in a simulated version of Helsinki, with estimated attendance somewhere from 700,000 to over 1,000,000. Jon Mauno Korhonen (born 5 January 1987 in Helsinki, Finland) is a Finnish rapper of Nigerian origin. Born in Helsinki, he lived in the city's Kruununhaka and Pihlajamäki neighborhoods, performing from the early 2000s. In 2005 he appeared as Juno in a TV reality show called ''Rap SM'' in the Finnish language rap section of the show. The other rappers in the Finnish leg were Kajo and Ruudolf. SMC Lähiörotat is a group of Finnish rap artists with their songs focusing in the underground life of Helsinki. Their debut album ' was released on June 15, 2011. It peaked at #2 on the Finnish Album Chart. SMC is known for their humorous skateboarding-themed songs and music videos and their extensive and innovative use of Helsinki slang . ''Vain elämää'' is the Finnish version of '' The Best Singers'' series broadcast on Finnish Nelonen commercial television channel fashioned on the successful Dutch series ''De beste zangers van Nederland''. Each day, one artist would be chosen, and the remaining artists would perform covers of her or his songs and would be assessed by the original artist. Pete Eemeli Parkkonen (born 8 February 1990) is a Finnish singer singing in both Finnish and English. He took part in the Finnish ''Idol'' competition in its fourth season finishing third.
