Isabelle Ladouceur
Isabelle Ladouceur (born c. 2000) is a Canadian curler. She is a former Canadian U18 champion, and skipped the Canadian junior team at the 2021 World Junior Curling Championships. Career Junior Ladouceur played in the 2016 Nova Scotia Junior Championships, losing in the final to Mary Fay. At the 2017 and 2018 provincial juniors, her team failed to make the playoffs. In 2018, Ladouceur and her U-18 team of Emilie Proulx, Makayla Harnish, Elsa Nauss and Kate Callaghan became the youngest ever team to qualify for the Nova Scotia Scotties Tournament of Hearts, as the age limit was eliminated two years prior. At the 2018 Nova Scotia Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the team went win less, going 0–7. A few months later, the team represented Nova Scotia at the 2018 Canadian U18 Curling Championships. Jamie Smith (curler)
Jamie Smith (born February 14, 2001) is a Canadian curler from Sudbury, Ontario. She currently plays third on Team Isabelle Ladouceur. In 2022, she played third for the Canadian junior team at the 2022 World Junior Curling Championships. Career Smith made her first national appearance at the 2018 Canadian U18 Curling Championships after posting an 8–0 record at the 2018 U18 Northern Ontario Girls Provincial with the Bella Croisier rink. The rink would go on to post a 4–2 round robin record, but would fail to carry momentum into the championship round and would drop their next two games, missing the playoffs. In 2019 Smith would once again reach the national stage this time at the 2019 Canada Winter Games. After finishing first in the round robin with a 9–1 record, the rink would advance directly to the semi-final where they would defeat Nova Scotia's Cally Moore 6–5 and then go on to capture the gold medal after defeating Manitoba's Hayley Bergman 8–3. 2022 World University Games Qualifier
The 2022 World University Games Qualifier was held from September 22 to 25 at the RA Centre in Ottawa, Ontario. This one-time event was used to select Canada's representatives for the 2023 Winter World University Games, as the 2022 U Sports/Curling Canada University Curling Championships was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 2023 Ontario Scotties Tournament Of Hearts
The 2023 Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the provincial women's curling championship for Southern Ontario, was held from January 23 to 29 at The Plex in Port Elgin, Ontario. The winning Rachel Homan rink represented Ontario at the 2023 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, Canada's national women's curling championship in Kamloops, British Columbia where they made the Championship round losing to Nova Scotia 7–6 in an extra end. The event was held in conjunction with the 2023 Ontario Tankard, the provincial men's curling championship. Both events are held together in non-Olympic years. 2023 Canadian Open (curling)
The 2023 Co-op Canadian Open was held from January 10 to 15 at the Encana Arena in Camrose, Alberta. It was the fourth Grand Slam event and third major of the 2022–23 curling season. In the women's final, Satsuki Fujisawa and her team from Japan became the first Asian team to win a Grand Slam title (excluding defunct Slams; China's Wang Bingyu had won the 2010 Curlers Corner Autumn Gold Curling Classic, which was considered a Slam at the time.), defeating the Canadian champion Kerri Einarson rink. Grand Slam Of Curling
The Grand Slam of Curling (branded as the Pinty's Grand Slam of Curling for sponsorship reasons) is a series of curling bonspiels that are a part of the annual World Curling Tour. Grand Slam events offer a purse of at least CAD$100,000, and feature the best teams from across Canada and around the World. The Grand Slam was instituted during the 2001–02 season for men and 2006–07 for women (with the 2006 Players' Championship also considered a Slam), but some of the Grand Slam events have longer histories as bonspiels. The Gord Carroll Curling Classic (formerly the Mount Lawn Gord Carroll Classic and the Village of Taunton Mills Gord Carroll Curling Classic) is an annual bonspiel, or curling tournament, that takes place at the Whitby Curling Club in Whitby, Ontario, Whitby, Ontario. 2022 World Junior Curling Championships
The 2022 World Junior Curling Championships were held from May 15 to 22 at the Jönköping Curling Club in Jönköping, Sweden. The event was originally scheduled to be held March 5 to 12, however, was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Sweden. It was the final World Curling Federation event held during the 2021–22 curling season.
