Iryna Kalynets
Iryna Onufriyivna Kalynets ( uk, Іри́на Ону́фріївна Калине́ць, 6 December 1940, Lviv – 31 July 2012, Lviv) was a Ukrainian poet, writer, activist and Soviet dissident during the 1970s. Kalynets was the wife of another Soviet dissident, Ihor Kalynets. Childhood Iryna Kalynets was born in a Christian family of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, who was exiled at the time of the USSR. Her father was Onufrii Ivanovych Stasiv, a worker from the Bratkovychi village, Horodotsky district. Her mother was Hanna Dmytrivna Stasiv (née Petyk) from a peasant family in the Malnivska Volya village, Mosty district. Among the relatives of Iryna Stasiv were people connected with the OUN. Nina Strokata Karavanska
Nina Antonovna Karavanska (née Strokata; January 31, 1926 – August 2, 1998) was a Ukrainian dissident, Soviet microbiologist and immunologist. She was a member of the dissident movement in the USSR, a co-founder of the Ukrainian Helsinki Group and one of the leading human rights activists in Odesa during the Soviet period. She is the author of about 23 scientific papers in the field of clinical microbiology and immunology. She spoke Russian, Ukrainian, English, German, Polish, and Romanian. She was the wife of Sviatoslav Karavansky. The Order of Princess Olga ( uk, Орден княгині Ольги) is a Ukrainian civil decoration, featuring Olga of Kiev and bestowed to women for "personal merits in state, production, scientific, educational, cultural, charity and other spheres of social activities, for upbringing children in families". It was established by Presidential Decree № 827/97 of 15 August 1997 and has three grades (classes), the first being the highest. The 1st grade medal is adorned with four rectangular amethysts and features a gilded ornament with silver parts. The two other grades also feature precious stones.
