The International Series is a series of men's professional golf tournaments played internationally, as part of the Asian Tour. History The series was unveiled in February 2022. It was confirmed that 10 events will be added alongside the Asian Tour schedule for the next 10 years, with each event featuring prize funds between and . The investment was backed by LIV Golf. The first event was played in March 2022 with the International Series Thailand. American Sihwan Kim won his first Asian Tour event shooting 26-under-par, beating Phachara Khongwatmai by two shots. The next event was played at Slaley Hall in Northumberland, England. This was the first Asian Tour event to be staged in the United Kingdom. Asian Tour
The Asian Tour is the principal men's professional golf tour in Asia except for Japan, which has its own Japan Golf Tour, which is also a full member of the International Federation of PGA Tours. Official money events on the tour count for World Golf Ranking points. The Asian Tour is administered from Singapore. It is controlled by a board with a majority of professional golfers, and a Tournament Players Committee of its player members, supported by an executive team. Nitithorn Thippong (; born 15 October 1996) is a Thai professional golfer who plays on the Asian Tour. Professional career Thippong turned professional in 2015. In 2018, Thippong got his first win on the Asian Development Tour at the PGM Penang Championship in Penang, Malaysia. Wade Ormsby (born 31 March 1980) is an Australian professional golfer who plays on the European Tour and on the LIV Golf Invitational Series. Career Ormsby was born in Adelaide, South Australia, Australia. He attended the University of Houston in the United States for three years before turning professional in 2001. Ormsby began his career on the PGA Tour of Australasia in his home country, while also trying to play in Europe. He played his first full season on the European Tour in 2004, having earned his place via qualifying school at the end of 2003. Professional career Gunn was born in Bangkok, Thailand and turned professional in 2011. Takumi Kanaya ( ja, 金谷拓実, born 23 May 1998) is a Japanese professional golfer. He had an exceptionally successful amateur career and was world ranked number 1 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking for 55 weeks. Bernd Klaus Wiesberger (; born 8 October 1985) is an Austrian professional golfer who plays on the European Tour and the LIV Golf Invitational Series. He finished the 2019 season in third place on the Race to Dubai standings, his best finish to date. Amateur career As an amateur, Kim won the Korean Amateur Open and Japan Amateur Golf Championship in 2008.
