International Novi Sad Literature Festival
The International Novi Sad Literature Festival (Serbian: Međunarodni književni festival) is a literary festival held annually in the city of Novi Sad, Serbia. It was founded by the Association of Writers of Vojvodina ( Serbian: Društvo književnika Vojvodine) in 2006. It is held еvery year in August and September. The festival features contemporary poets, novelist and critics, who represent and promote contemporary literature from various countries. The Festival includes readings, performances, exhibitions and music. More than 900 writers from Serbia and abroad participated in the first thirteen festivals. The works of participants of the Festival are published in literary journal ''Zlatna greda''. The winning author of the International Novi Sad Literature festival is awarded by having his or her winning book published in Serbian. Novi Sad
Novi Sad ( sr-Cyrl, Нови Сад, ; hu, Újvidék, ; german: Neusatz; see below for other names) is the second largest city in Serbia and the capital of the autonomous province of Vojvodina. It is located in the southern portion of the Pannonian Plain on the border of the Bačka and Syrmia geographical regions. Elena Nikolayevna Fanailova ( rus, Еле́на Никола́евна Фана́йлова, p=jɪˈlʲɛnə nʲɪkɐˈlajɪvnə fɐˈnajləvə, a=Yelyena Nikolayevna Fanaylova.ru.vorb.oga; born 19 December 1962) is a Russian poet. Born in Voronezh, she graduated from the Voronezh Medical Institute and earned a degree in journalism from Voronezh State University. She worked for six years as a doctor at Voronezh Regional Hospital. In 1995 she became a correspondent for Radio Svoboda, and has lived and worked in Moscow since the late nineties. She has contributed verse and literary reviews to ''Znamya'', the ''New Literary Review'', ''Critical Mass'', ''Mitin Journal'', and other publications. She has also translated the verses of Serhiy Zhadan from Ukrainian. Stephen Rodefer
Stephen Rodefer (November 20, 1940 – August 22, 2015) was an American poet and painter who lived in Paris and London. Born in Bellaire, Ohio, he knew many of the early beat and Black Mountain poets, including Allen Ginsberg, Gregory Corso, Charles Olson, and Robert Creeley. Rodefer was one of the original Language poets and taught widely, including: UNM, SUNY Buffalo, UC Berkeley, UC San Diego, San Francisco State, and the American University of Paris. Rodefer was the first American poet to be offered a Fellowship at Cambridge University. Stephen Rodefer's papers were purchased by Stanford University and are on permanent view there. Rodefer died at the age of 74 in Paris in August, 2015. Robert Minhinnick
Robert Minhinnick (born 12 August 1952) is a Welsh poet, essayist, novelist and translator. He has won two Forward Prizes for Best Individual Poem and has received the Wales Book of the Year award a record three times (in 1993, 2006 and 2018). Biography Minhinnick was born in Neath, and now lives in Porthcawl. He studied at University of Wales, Aberystwyth, and University of Wales, Cardiff. An environmental campaigner, he co-founded the charities Friends of the Earth (Cymru) and Sustainable Wales. His work deals with both Welsh and international themes. He has published seven poetry collections and several volumes of essays. He edited the magazine, ''Poetry Wales'' from 1997 until 2008. Søren Ulrik Thomsen (born 8 May 1956) is a Danish poet. His debut was ''City Slang'', 1981. Life Søren Ulrik Thomsen was born in 1956 in Kalundborg. He grew up in Store Heddinge, Stevns, south of Copenhagen, where he went to school together with another Danish poet, Jens Fink-Jensen from 1968 to 1972. During his childhood he often heard readings of literature and sang evening songs. This early exposure to the rhythm and poetry of language influenced his later writing. In school he became familiar with the songs of B.S.Ingemann, a poet who has had significant influence on Thomsen's poetry. He moved with his family to Copenhagen at sixteen and enrolled in secondary school at Rysensteen and, after being expelled, at Det Frie Gymnasium, where he completed his upper secondary education, making him eligible for university studies.
