Igor Malinovsky
Igor Malinovsky (Igor Vladimirovich Malinovsky, Russian: Игорь Владимирович Mалиновский), was born in Sverdlovsk (Yekaterinburg) on 6 November 1977. He is a Russian concert violinist and Professor of violin. Igor Malinovsky received Austrian citizenship as a reward for his artistic services to the country. Education Malinovsky was born on 6 November 1977 in Sverdlovsk, USSR, into a family with a long musical tradition. He began to play the violin at the age of six and soon afterwards began his formal studies at the Urals Mussorgsky State Conservatoire in Yekaterinburg with Prof. Vladimir Milstein. In 1991, Malinovsky moved to Vienna and became an Austrian citizen in 1995. The International Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition ( Polish: ''Międzynarodowy Konkurs Skrzypcowy im. Henryka Wieniawskiego'') is a competition for violinists up to age 30 that takes place every five years in Poznań, Poland, in honor of the virtuoso and composer Henryk Wieniawski (1835–1880). The first competition took place in 1935 in Warsaw, 100 years after the birth of its patron, and consisted of two stages. The Yehudi Menuhin International Competition for Young Violinists (or simply the Menuhin Competition) is an international music competition for violinists under the age of 22. It was founded by Yehudi Menuhin in 1983 with the goal of nurturing young violinists. In its early years, the competition took place in Folkestone on the south coast of England. Pablo Martín Melitón de Sarasate y Navascués (; 10 March 1844 – 20 September 1908), commonly known as Pablo de Sarasate, was a Spanish (Navarrese) violin virtuoso, composer and conductor of the Romantic period. His best known works include '' Zigeunerweisen'' (''Gypsy Airs''), the '' Spanish Dances'', and the '' Carmen Fantasy''.
