The 2017 Iraqi Super Cup was the 8th edition of the Iraqi Super Cup, and the first since the competition's name was changed from ''Iraqi Perseverance Cup'' to ''Iraqi Super Cup''. The match was contested between the Baghdad rivals, Al-Zawraa and Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, at Karbalaa International Stadium in Karbalaa. The Iraqi Super Cup ( ar, كأس السوبر العراقي), previously called Iraqi Perseverance Cup ( ar, كأس المثابرة العراقي), is Iraqi football's annual match contested between the champions of the previous Iraqi Premier League season and the holders of the Iraq FA Cup. The 2017–18 Iraqi Premier League ( ar, الدوري العراقي الممتاز 2017–18) was the 44th season of the Iraqi Premier League, the highest division for Iraqi association football clubs, since its establishment in 1974. The 25th Arabian Gulf Cup, known as Khaleeji Zain 25 for sponsorship reasons, was the 25th edition of the Arabian Gulf Cup, biennial football competition for the eight members of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation. Basra
Basra ( ar, ٱلْبَصْرَة, al-Baṣrah) is an Iraqi city located on the Shatt al-Arab. It had an estimated population of 1.4 million in 2018. Basra International Stadium ( ar, مدينة البصرة الرياضية) is a sports complex in Basra, southern Iraq. Overview Its construction started on 1 January 2009 and was completed on 12 October 2013. 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualification – AFC Second Round
The AFC second round of 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification, which also served as the second round of 2023 AFC Asian Cup qualification, was played from 5 September 2019 to 15 June 2021.
