24th Arabian Gulf Cup
The 24th Arabian Gulf Cup was the 24th edition of the Gulf Cup of Nations, biennial football competition for the eight members of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation. Eight teams participated in the tournament. On 15 July 2019, the AGCFF announced that the tournament would be held in Qatar from 24 November to 6 December 2019. Bahrain national football team, Bahrain won the competition by a 1–0 victory against Saudi Arabia to secure their first title. Ali Ahmed Mabkhout Mohsen Al Hajeri ( ar, علي أحمد مبخوت محسن الهاجري; born 5 October 1990) is an Emirati professional association football player who plays for UAE Pro League club Al Jazira and the United Arab Emirates national team. Coming through the youth system, Mabkhout made his debut for Al Jazira's first team in 2009. Club career Mabkhout made his AFC Champions League debut against Al Ittihad on 22 April 2009, after coming on as a substitute. On 19 May 2009, he scored his first Asian Champions League goal in the 49th minute against Esteghlal in a 2–2 draw. 2014 Gulf Cup Of Nations
The 22nd Arabian Gulf Cup ( ar, كأس الخليج العربي) was the 22nd edition of the biennial football competition, and took place between 13 and 26 November 2014 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It was scheduled to take place in Basra, Iraq but was shifted after concerns over preparations and security. Iraq was also due to host the 2013 tournament, but this was moved to Bahrain instead. After being moved to Saudi Arabia, Jeddah was initially announced as the host city but was later moved to Riyadh. Qatar won the cup by defeating Saudi Arabia 2–1 in the final. Teams and Draw The draw took place on 12 August 2014. The 2nd Arabian Gulf Cup ( ar, دورة كأس الخليج العربي الثانية) was the second edition of the Arabian Gulf Cup. The tournament was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and was won by defending champions Kuwait for the second time. The tournament took place between 16 and 28 March 1972. Kuwait won their second consecutive title, edging out Saudi Arabia on goal difference after both nations finished with equal points. This makes it the first time that the title was decided by goal difference. United Arab Emirates made their debut in the competition and finished third. Bahrain withdrew after walking off the field, during the final match of the tournament, against Saudi Arabia to protest the officiating. They were subsequently ejected from the competition and their results were expunged. 2010 Gulf Cup Of Nations
The 20th Arabian Gulf Cup ( ar, كأس الخليج العربي) was the twentieth edition of the biannual Gulf Cup competition, and took place in Aden, Yemen, from 22 November to 5 December 2010. The tournament was held in Yemen for the first time in the tournament's history, and this edition celebrated the 40th anniversary of the cup as well as the 20th anniversary of the tournament. The opening match was played between the host Yemen and Saudi Arabia at the 22 May Stadium in Aden. Kuwait won the tournament for the tenth time in the team's history, against 2-time consecutive second-place finishers, Saudi Arabia in a 1–0 score that ended with extra time. The 6th Arabian Gulf Cup ( ar, دورة كأس الخليج العربي السادسة) was the sixth edition of the Arabian Gulf Cup. The tournament was held at the Zayed Sports City Stadium in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates and took place between 19 March and 4 April 1982. Kuwait won their fifth title after defeating Oman 2–0 on 29 March. Iraq also took part in the competition, but they withdrew after their match against the UAE. The 1st Arabian Gulf Cup ( ar, دورة كأس الخليج العربي الأولى) was the first edition of the Arabian Gulf Cup, held every two years and organised by the AGCFF. The first tournament was held in Bahrain. The 19th Arabian Gulf Cup ( ar, كأس الخليج العربي) was the nineteenth edition of the biannual Gulf Cup competition, and took place in Muscat, Oman, from 4 to 17 January 2009 and was won by Oman for the first time in its history, in a penalty shootout against regional rivals, Saudi Arabia. The 19th Arabian Gulf Cup marked as a milestone in the competition when it was broadcast for the first time in HD, and featured virtual graphics, such as distance between free kick barrier and the goal, 9.15 m circle for free-kicks, and off-side line detection with help from Al-Jazeera Sports. Many praised Al-Jazeera for their excellent coverage of the competition, noting that the camerawork was very similar to UEFA Euro 2008. The 9th Arabian Gulf Cup ( ar, كأس الخليج العربي) was the 9th edition of this tournament. It was held between March 2 and March 18, 1988, in Saudi Arabia. It was the second time after 1972, that Saudi Arabia hosted this regional football tournament. The tournament was won by Iraq. It was the third title for Iraq after having won the tournament 1979 in Baghdad and 1984 in Muscat. All games were played at the newly built King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh. The stadium was built to host the 1988 Gulf Cup and the FIFA World Youth Championship one year later. Having scored four goals each, Ahmed Radhi from Iraq and Zuhair Bakhit from the UAE shared the top-scorer award. Habib Jaafar (Iraq) was voted as best player, Oman's goalkeeper Yousif Obaid won the best-goalkeeper-award. Oman achieved their first victory in the Gulf Cup tournament after beating Qatar 2–1. The 7th Arabian Gulf Cup ( ar, كأس الخليج العربي) took place in Muscat capital of Oman, from March 9, to March 28, 1984.
