Ellinikós Telikós (; Greek for "Greek Final") is a song contest which took place every year in Athens, Greece until 2017, and decided who would represent Greece in the Eurovision Song Contest. The contest started in 1979, when Elpida took the title. Over the years, the contest took place in various venues, from TV studios to concert halls. The most famous winners include Helena Paparizou, Kalomira, Sakis Rouvas, Anna Vissi, and Katy Garbi. Sophia Vossou
Sophia Vossou ( el, Σοφία Βόσσου; born 5 December 1961) is a Greek singer best known abroad for representing Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest 1991 where she was placed 13th with the song " I Anixi". Biography Vossou was born in 1961 in Patras. She grew up in Athens where she studied music. In 1984 she took part in the Thessaloniki Song Contest where she won first prize. Following her success, Vossou began singing in nightclubs and soon released her first record ''Sophia'', a pop and rock album. From the mid-1990s she started singing folk music with minor success. Her album, ''San Alitissa'' (''Like A Tramp''), was released in 2002, but was not a commercial success. She then cooperated with a group formed by Orthodox Christian monks, recording two pop/rock/gospel music with them. Dafni Bokota ( el, Δάφνη Μπόκοτα; born 1960) is a Greek singer, presenter and former spokesperson for the Greek national broadcaster Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT). Biography Dafni Bokota was born in Koukaki, Athens, Greece in 1960. She studied English and French literature and while working in ERT and released an LP with her own compositions. The title of the record was ''Dafni Bokota kai Saboter'' and the singles "Diva" and "Viper Nora" were hits. She had tried to represent Greece in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1983 with her song "Juliet". Bokota is best known for presenting for ERT the Jeux Sans Frontières and the Eurovision Song Contest, the latter for eighteen years from 1987 until 2004. Olympia "Lia" Vissi (born 15 May 1955) is a Greek-Cypriot singer, songwriter and composer who most notable for her two participations in the Eurovision Song Contest and being older sister of Greek Cypriot singer Anna Vissi. Career Vissi participated in the Eurovision Song Contest twice. In 1979, she was a supporting singer for Elpida, representing Greece and 1984 saw Vissi participate in the Cypriot national song contest with the song "Chtes", which came second. Finally, in 1985 she represented Cyprus in the contest as a solo singer, singing her own composition '' To Katalava Arga'', to which she also penned the lyrics. The Cypriot entry came 16th out of 19 songs, receiving 15 points, including 8 (rather than the usual maximum 12) from Greece.
