The Eurovision Song Contest 1985 was the 30th edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Gothenburg, Sweden, following the country's victory at the with the song "Diggi-Loo Diggi-Ley" by Herreys. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Sveriges Television (SVT), the contest was held at the Scandinavium on the 4th of May 1985 and was hosted by previous Swedish contestant Lill Lindfors. Nineteen countries took part in the contest, with the and deciding not to participate. The winner was with the song "La det swinge" by Bobbysocks!. This was Norway's first victory in the contest, after a long period of low scores, including 3 "nul points". Christie Stasinopoulou was chosen with "Mou les" and placed 14th at Eurovision. Before Eurovision National final The final took place on 18 March 1983 at the ERT TV Studios in Peania and was hosted by Mako Georgiadou. Originally, there were 11 songs taking part, but song 7, "Horos tis nichtas" by Petros Dourdouvakis was possibly disqualified, as it was not included in the voting results. Greece has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 42 times since its debut in , missing six contests in that time (1975, 1982, 1984, 1986, 1999 and 2000). Bang was a Greek male vocal duo, consisting of Paul Stevens (vocals, guitar) (according to ''Billboard'' "Top Pop Singles" and several other unofficial sources, his real name is Thanos Calliris) and Billy Adams (Vassilis Dertilis) (keyboards). They had chart success with the single "You're the One", released on the RCA label. It entered the UK Singles Chart on 6 May 1989, reaching #74. It was in the chart for two weeks.
