Bang (Greek Band)
Bang was a Greek male vocal duo, consisting of Paul Stevens (vocals, guitar) (according to ''Billboard'' "Top Pop Singles" and several other unofficial sources, his real name is Thanos Calliris) and Billy Adams (Vassilis Dertilis) (keyboards). They had chart success with the single "You're the One", released on the RCA label. It entered the UK Singles Chart on 6 May 1989, reaching #74. It was in the chart for two weeks. The B-side of the 7" version was "Don't Burn Down the Bridge", with the 12" having an additional instrumental version. They represented Greece in the ESC 1987 and had minor success in Europe and Japan. Biography Bang was formed in 1987 consisting of members Thanos Kalliris, Vasilis Dertilis and Michalis Capoulas. Panayiotis (Takis) Biniaris (Athens, 9 June 1955) is a Greek singer who represented his country in the Eurovision Song Contest 1985 The Eurovision Song Contest 1985 was the 30th edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest. The ''Billboard'' Hot 100 is the music industry standard record chart in the United States for songs, published weekly by '' Billboard'' magazine. François Kevorkian
François Kevorkian (born 10 January 1954), also known by the stage name François K, is a French-born, U.S.-based DJ, producer, remixer and label owner of Armenian descent, who started his career DJing in clubs such as the Paradise Garage and Studio 54. Shep Pettibone
Robert "Shep" Pettibone (born 10 July 1959) is an American record producer, remixer, songwriter and club DJ, one of the most prolific of the 1980s. Career Shep Pettibone surfaced after his work with Arthur Baker on Afrika Bambaataa & the Jazzy 5's "Jazzy Sensation" and as an in-house mix engineer for Prelude Records. During his recording career, he launched innovative "mastermixes" for New York's KISS FM. The popularity of these mixes persuaded Prelude Records to release some of them commercially. Pettibone built his brand through his personal approach to remixing tracks, specially crafted for the dancefloor. Acclaimed by DJs worldwide, he was the go-to man to achieve club and chart success. His prowess at production and mixing led him to work with such artists as Madonna and George Michael in the late 1980s during the height of these artists' popularity. Mariana Efstratiou
Maria-Anastasia (Mariana) Efstratiou ( el, Μαριάνα Ευστρατίου) (born 17 April 1955 in Athens) is a Greek singer, connected on several occasions with the Eurovision Song Contest. In 1987 she appeared as a backing singer for the duo Bang. Efstratiou won the Greek national song contest in 1989, overcoming Greek superstar Anna Vissi, and represented Greece in Lausanne with '' To Diko Sou Asteri''. The song was placed ninth. In 1996, ERT selected her to represent Greece again, this time with the song '' Emis forame to himona anixiatika'', but the song could only manage 14th place in Oslo.
