Harris Federation
Harris Federation is a multi-academy trust of 52 primary and secondary academies in and around London. They are sponsored by Philip Harris (Lord Harris of Peckham). Description With 52 academies in London and Essex, the Harris Federation educates around 40,000 children, which is about 1 in 40 London children, and employs 5,000 staff. Through its "Train to Teach Programme", it provides initial teacher training and inset for teachers from London and the South East. The sponsor is Philip Harris (Lord Harris of Peckham) who was the former chairman and chief executive of Carpetright. The federation is a not-for-profit charitable organisation. Croydon
Croydon is a large town in south London, England, south of Charing Cross. Part of the London Borough of Croydon, a local government district of Greater London. It is one of the largest commercial districts in Greater London, with an extensive shopping district and night-time economy. Kenley
Kenley is an area within the London Borough of Croydon. Prior to its incorporation into Greater London in 1965 it was in the historic county of Surrey. It is situated south of Purley, east of Coulsdon, north of Caterham and Whyteleafe and west of Sanderstead, and south of Charing Cross. At the 2011 Census, Kenley had a population of 14,966. Kenley was part of the administrative county of Surrey prior to the creation of Greater London in 1965. Significant portions of the area lie within the Metropolitan Green Belt. Harris Academy Chafford Hundred (formerly Chafford Hundred Campus Business and Enterprise College) is a secondary school and sixth form with academy status located in Chafford Hundred in the borough of Thurrock within the commuter belt of London, England, United Kingdom. Bexley
Bexley is an area of south-eastern Greater London, England and part of the London Borough of Bexley. Harris Academy Bermondsey is a secondary school located in the district of Bermondsey in the London Borough of Southwark, England. The school takes in girls between the ages of 11 and 18. In 2006 the school joined a federation of schools in South London called the Harris Federation named after the Lord Harris of Peckham who is sponsoring them. Prior to its transformation into an academy, the school was known as Aylwin Girls' School. The 'Aylwin Grammar School for Girls' was founded on the site in 1906, and was one of the first offering a free grammar school education to girls in the country. Battersea
Battersea is a large district in south London, part of the London Borough of Wandsworth, England. It is centred southwest of Charing Cross and extends along the south bank of the River Thames. Harris Academy Battersea is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form with academy status, located near Battersea Park in the Battersea area of the London Borough of Wandsworth, England.
