Hélio José de Souza Gonçalves (born 31 January 1986), commonly known as Hélio (; , ), is a Brazilian-born Hong Kong professional football player who plays as a centre back for Hong Kong Premier League club Kitchee. Hélio acquired his HKSAR passport on 31 October 2015, which means he is eligible to represent Hong Kong on the international level. Club career Early career He was transferred from Sántos B to Ceará SC for an unknown fee in the January transfer window of the 2006–07 season, and was then transferred to Olímpia SP for an unknown fee in the January transfer window of the next season without playing a single game for Ceará. He played 20 games for Olímpia, scoring 2 goals. He was then sold to Citizen in Hong Kong in the summer transfer window 6 months later for an unknown fee. The Citizen Athletic Association (), simply known as Citizen or TCAA, is a Hong Kong athletic club. Its football team () currently competes in the Hong Kong First Division. The club has a long history in playing in the top-tier Hong Kong First Division, but decided to self-relegate in the 2013–14 season after declining to participate in the newly established Hong Kong Premier League. The 2013–14 Hong Kong First Division League, officially named 2013–14 HKFA RedMR Hong Kong First Division League due to sponsorship reasons, is the 102nd season of the First Division League since its establishment. AFC Cup
The AFC Cup is an annual continental club football competition organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). Under its current rules, the competition is played primarily between clubs from nations that did not receive direct qualifying slots in the top-tier AFC Champions League, based on the AFC Club Competitions Ranking. Al-Kuwait SC and Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya are the most successful clubs in the competition's history, having won three titles each. Hong Kong FA Cup () is a knockout cup competition in Hong Kong football, run by and named after The Hong Kong Football Association. The first edition of the competition was held in 1975, before then the cup was known as the Golden Jubilee Cup. The current season is the 45th edition of the event. 14 different teams have won the cup with 10-time champions South China being the most successful. In the first three years, the semi-finals and the finals were two-legged events. If the aggregate result was drawn, there would be extra time after the second leg. Drawn ties after extra time would be settled by a replay. However, this practice was abandoned in 1977. Since 1978, all matches have become one-legged, draws are settled by extra time and penalty shootouts.
