Hong Kong First Division League
The Hong Kong First Division League () is the second-highest division in the Hong Kong football league system. Established in 1908, it is the third oldest in Asia. The league was formerly the highest division in Hong Kong until the formation of the Hong Kong Premier League in 2014. Since 1908, a total of 29 clubs have been crowned champions of the Hong Kong football system. South China are the most successful club, having won 41 times since their first participation in 1941. Competition format Each team plays the other teams in the division twice, one home and one away game. The ticket profits go to the home team. If there are two matches in the same stadium on the day, the profits are shared between the two home teams. The top two teams in the league are offered promotion to the Premier League while the bottom two are relegated to the Hong Kong Second Division. Double Flower Football Association () is a Hong Kong football club which plays in the Hong Kong Second Division. The club was very successful in 1990s in the then top-tier First Division under the name Instant-Dict (). Major events * 1981–82 season: The club finished second in the Third Division and were promoted to Second Division. * 1984–85 season: The club finished third in the Second Division and were promoted to First Division, then the top league in Hong Kong football. * 1985–86 season: The club faced Seiko in their First Division debut, in which they led 3-2 at the beginning of the second half but then conceded 5 goals and lost the match 3-7. Yau Tsim Mong Football Team () is a football club based in Yau Tsim Mong District of Hong Kong which currently competes in the Hong Kong Second Division. The club was formed in 2003. The team plays its home matches at Kowloon Tsai Park. History The club was promoted to the Hong Kong Second Division, then the second tier of Hong Kong football, in the 2006–07 season after coming second in the Hong Kong Third Division "District" League and winning the playoffs. However, they were instantly relegated back to the third tier after finishing the season with only a single win and 7 points out of 20 games, and conceding 51 goals, an average of 2.5 per game. Wanchai Sports Federation () is a football club which currently plays in the Hong Kong Second Division. The club is operated by the Wan Chai District Council. The club plays its home matches at Happy Valley Recreation Ground. History In 2002, the Hong Kong Football Association introduced the Hong Kong Third District Division League, which was formed by teams operating by each District Council of Hong Kong. Wanchai was one of 11 clubs to join the league in the first season. The club did not perform well since they were formed as they were usually placing at the bottom half of league table. In the 2008–09 season, the club were placed at the bottom of the table among 15 teams, only had won one match (vs Wong Tai Sin, originally lost 0–6. Lucky Mile () is the second team of HKFC which currently compete in the Hong Kong Second Division League. Club history Lucky Mile was formed in the late 1990s, borrowing on HKFC's membership in the Hong Kong Football Association. In the 1999–2000 season, the club won the Hong Kong Third Division championship and for the first time rose to the Hong Kong Second Division. In the 2007–2008 season, the club finished ninth and along with tenth place New Fair Kui Tan, they were relegated to Hong Kong Group C (A) Football League. In the 2008–2009 season, with a record of 15 wins and 3 losses have 46 points, they won the championship and achieved Group C Finals qualification.
