The 2015–16 Hong Kong Second Division League is the 2nd season of Hong Kong Second Division League since it became the third-tier football league in Hong Kong in 2014–15. Hong Kong Second Division League
Hong Kong Second Division League () is the third level of football league in Hong Kong founded in 1909. The top two teams are promoted to the Hong Kong First Division. Competition format * Each team plays the other teams twice, one home and one away game. The ticket profits go to the home team. If there are two matches in the same stadium on the day, the profits are shared between the two home teams. * Since most of the teams do not have a home ground, the matches will be playing on different grounds. It happens that one team plays their home games in different stadiums in the same season. * The bottom two teams are relegated to the Hong Kong Third Division. Tuen Mun Football Club () is a Hong Kong football club which currently competes in the Hong Kong Third Division. History Founded in 2001, the team had been representing Tuen Mun District to compete in the Hong Kong Third 'District' Division League, having won the Hong Kong Third 'District' Division League in the 2004–05 season. However, they became independent from the Tuen Mun District and joined the Hong Kong Third 'A' Division League. In the 2006–07 season, they became the champions of the Hong Kong Third 'A' Division League, but eventually lost in the Hong Kong Third Division League final round and failed to gain promotion. Sparta Rotterdam (Mutual) FC
Sparta Asia Football Club () is a Hong Kong football club currently competing in the Hong Kong Second Division. During the 2008–09 season, it once competed in the top-tier Hong Kong First Division, and was relegated after finishing 12th out of 13 teams. At the end of the 2010–11 season, after gaining promotion to the First Division from the runner-up position in the Second Division, it withdrew from the First Division and was expunged from the Hong Kong league system by the HKFA. IT rejoined the league system and competed in the Fourth Division in the 2012–13 season. In 2015, the Asia football academy of the Dutch Eredivisie club Sparta Rotterdam took charge of the club and it rebranded as Sparta Rotterdam Mutual FC. The partnership ended after 2018. Sai Kung District Sports Association () is a Hong Kong district sports association of Sai Kung District which currently competes in the Hong Kong Second Division. The club plays the majority of its home matches at Sai Kung Tang Shiu Kin Sports Ground. Kwong Wah Athletic Association () are a football club that currently playing in the Hong Kong Second Division. The team's home matches are played throughout Hong Kong. History Kwong Wah were formed in 1936 by a group of coworkers at CLP Group. Among them, there were local and foreign players including future star Hau Yung Seng. The year after their formation, they won the 1937–38 Hong Kong Junior Shield as well as promotion into the Hong Kong Second Division. The club reached the Hong Kong First Division in 1947.
