Homex is a Mexican construction and real estate company engaged in the development, construction and sale of affordable entry-level, middle-income and tourism housing in Mexico and Brazil. Founded in Culiacán in 1989, the company is headquartered in Culiacán and it is listed in the Mexican Stock Exchange. Equity International is a private equity firm founded by Sam Zell to invest in real estate in markets outside of the United States. Since its founding in 1999, it has invested in 28 companies. Investments In 2002, Equity International invested $32 million in Mexican home builder Homex. The firm divested from Homex in 2008. Culiacán
Culiacán, officially Culiacán Rosales, is a city in northwestern Mexico, the capital and largest city of both the Culiacán Municipality and the state of Sinaloa. The Mexican Stock Exchange ( es, Bolsa Mexicana de Valores), commonly known as Mexican Bolsa, Mexbol, or BMV, is one of two stock exchanges in Mexico, the other being BIVA - Bolsa Institucional de Valores.
