Holden Premier
The Holden Premier is an automobile that was produced by Holden for Australasia between 1962 and 1980. The Premier was an upmarket version of the: * Holden Standard/Special: between 1962 and 1968. * Holden Belmont/Kingswood: between 1968 and 1980. These 1968 onwards Premiers are distinguished from the Belmont and Kingswood by having a quad-headlight grille treatment. The usual Premier fittings are standard bucket seats, extra exterior trim, carpeted floor mats, armrests, a center console, automatic transmision, the aforementioned quad-headlights beginning in 1968 and more, or less depending on the series. With the HD & HR models, an 'X2' option was available, with more detailed instrumentation, alongside a higher output engine, this specification was also available on the Special. The Jatco 3N71 transmission was the first 3-speed automatic transmission from Nissan. It was an introduced as a conventional alternative to the then-ubiquitous and popular Borg-Warner Type 35. It was designed for use with rear wheel drive vehicles with longitudinal engines. In 1982, it gained a locking torque converter (L3N71b) for greater efficiency, and gained an overdrive section in 1983 (L4N71b), culminating with preliminary electronic sensors and control functions being added in 1985 (E4N71b). The Holden Commodore is a full-size car that was sold by Holden from 1978 to 2020. It was manufactured from 1978 to 2017 in Australia and from 1979 to 1990 in New Zealand, with production of the locally manufactured versions in Australia ending on 20 October 2017. The Holden Special is a mid-size car that was manufactured by Holden for Australasia. Introduced as the top-level trim in the new Holden FJ range of 1953, the Special was complemented by the entry-level Holden Standard and the mid-range Holden Business. The Business was in fact already available, introduced in July 1953 in the 48 series first seen in 1948. Three months later, the FJ was introduced, therefore forming a three-model lineup based around one car.
