Ho, Denmark
Ho is a village in southwestern Jutland in the Varde Municipality, in Region of Southern Denmark. Many tourists, especially Germans, visit the village primarily because of the nature of the area. It is 7 kilometers from Blåvand, 11 kilometers from Oksbøl and 32 from Esbjerg. Etymology Ho is linked to Ho Bugt. Ho is derived from Hõi, which means trough or cart. Regions Of Denmark
The five Regions of Denmark ( da, regioner) were created as administrative entities at a level above the municipalities and below the central government in the public sector as part of the 2007 Danish Municipal Reform, when the 13 counties ('' amter'') were abolished. At the same time, the number of municipalities ('' kommuner'') was cut from 270 to 98. The reform was approved and made into a law by the lawmakers in the Folketing 26 June 2005 with elections to the 98 municipalities and 5 regions being held Tuesday 15 November 2005. Each region is governed by a popularly elected regional council with 41 members, from whom the regional chairperson is chosen. The main responsibility of the regions is healthcare. Lesser powers of the regions include public transport, environmental planning, soil pollution management and some coordination of secondary education. The Region of Southern Denmark ( da, Region Syddanmark, ; german: Region Süddänemark, ; frr, Regiuun Syddanmark) is an administrative region of Denmark established on Monday 1 January 2007 as part of the 2007 Danish Municipal Reform, which abolished the traditional counties ("amter") and set up five larger regions. At the same time, smaller municipalities were merged into larger units, cutting the number of municipalities from 271 before 1 January 2007 to 98. The reform diminished the power of the regional level dramatically in favor of the local level and the central government in Copenhagen. The Region of Southern Denmark has 22 municipalities. Varde Municipality is a municipality ( Danish, '' kommune'') in Region of Southern Denmark on the west coast of the Jutland peninsula in southwest Denmark. Ho Bugt
Ho Bay ( da, Ho Bugt) is a Danish bay with an approximate area of . It constitutes the northern end of the Wadden Sea, and lies between Skallingen in the southwest, Ho in the west, Oksbøl to the north and Hjerting to the east. At the northeastern end, Varde Å has its outlet through Tarp and Billum Enge, north of Marbæk Plantage. In the southern end of the bay lies the island Langli surrounded by large sandy surfaces, but with a road to the north to the peninsula Nyeng, south of Ho. As a part of the Wadden Sea, Ho Bay is an international nature conservation area under the Natura 2000 network, and Ramsar area, Special Area of Conservation and Special Protection Area.
