Ho Bugt
Ho Bay ( da, Ho Bugt) is a Danish bay with an approximate area of . It constitutes the northern end of the Wadden Sea, and lies between Skallingen in the southwest, Ho in the west, Oksbøl to the north and Hjerting to the east. At the northeastern end, Varde Å has its outlet through Tarp and Billum Enge, north of Marbæk Plantage. In the southern end of the bay lies the island Langli surrounded by large sandy surfaces, but with a road to the north to the peninsula Nyeng, south of Ho. As a part of the Wadden Sea, Ho Bay is an international nature conservation area under the Natura 2000 network, and Ramsar area, Special Area of Conservation and Special Protection Area. The name goes back to circa 1325 when it was ''Hoo'' that comes from the old Danish word ''trug''. The property was early among the most inhabited areas in West Jutland, when the bay provided shelter for both freight and fishing boats. Wadden Sea
The Wadden Sea ( nl, Waddenzee ; german: Wattenmeer; nds, Wattensee or ; da, Vadehavet; fy, Waadsee, longname=yes; frr, di Heef) is an intertidal zone in the southeastern part of the North Sea. It lies between the coast of northwestern continental Europe and the range of low-lying Frisian Islands, forming a shallow body of water with tidal flats and wetlands. It has a high biological diversity and is an important area for both breeding and migrating birds. In 2009, the Dutch and German parts of the Wadden Sea were inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage List and the Danish part was added in June 2014. Ho, Denmark
Ho is a village in southwestern Jutland in the Varde Municipality, in Region of Southern Denmark. Many tourists, especially Germans, visit the village primarily because of the nature of the area. Hjerting
Hjerting is a district of Esbjerg in southwest Jutland, Denmark, some north of the centre. As of 2011, it has 7,289 inhabitants. With a history as a fishing village going back some 700 years it is now an exclusive suburb with views over the sandy beach and the Wadden Sea. Langli (island)
Langli is a small marsh island in the Ho Bugt near Esbjerg on the Danish North Sea Coast. It is long and is accessible from Ho over a long causeway at low tide. Langli (original “Langeleje” = long camp) was up to the flood of 1634 part of a peninsula. Afterwards sea-laterally a second peninsula (today Skallingen) began to develop itself, which from now on protected Langli. Natura 2000 is a network of nature protection areas in the territory of the European Union. It is made up of Special Areas of Conservation and Special Protection Areas designated under the Habitats Directive and the Birds Directive, respectively. A Special Area of Conservation (SAC) is defined in the European Union's Habitats Directive (92/43/EEC), also known as the ''Directive on the Conservation of Natural Habitats and of Wild Fauna and Flora''. They are to protect the 220 habitats and approximately 1,000 species listed in annex I and II of the directive which are considered to be of European interest following criteria given in the directive. A Special Protection Area (SPA) is a designation under the European Union Directive on the Conservation of Wild Birds. Under the Directive, Member States of the European Union (EU) have a duty to safeguard the habitats of migratory birds and certain particularly threatened birds.
