''Hitman 2'' is a 2018 stealth video game that was developed by IO Interactive and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. It is the seventh major installment in the ''Hitman'' video game series, the sequel to 2016's ''Hitman'' and the second game in the ''World of Assassination'' trilogy. The game's story continues the plot arc started in ''Hitman'' and follows assassin Agent 47 as he searches for the mysterious "Shadow Client" and his allies, who are trying to destroy Providence, a secretive organization that controls the world's affairs. Like its predecessor, ''Hitman 2'' features six large sandbox locations that players can freely explore to find opportunities to eliminate their targets. Agent 47
Agent 47 is a fictional character, the protagonist and the player character of the Hitman (franchise), ''Hitman'' video game franchise, developed by IO Interactive. He has been featured in all games of the series, as well as various spin-off media, including two theatrically released films. Agent 47 has been voiced by actor David Bateson in the video game series. A monotone and seemingly apathy, emotionless contract killer, the player controls 47 as he travels around the world to execute hits on various criminals that are assigned to him by Diana Burnwood, his handler within the fictional International Contract Agency (ICA). The character takes his name from being the 47th Cloning, clone created by various wealthy criminals from around the world, in the hopes of creating an army of obedient soldiers to carry out their commands. Concluding the plot arc started in ''Hitman'', the single-player storyline follows assassin Agent 47 and his allies as they hunt down the leaders of the secretive organization Providence, which controls the world's affairs and was partially responsible for 47's creation and upbringing. The game is presented from a third-person perspective, with a focus on interactive elements in 47's environment. Like the previous entries in the series, the game features 6 levels, with 5 of them being large open-ended sandbox levels.
