Highlights (band)
Highlights is a dansband from Sweden, established in 2004 by Andreas Wistrand, who had participated at Fame Factory, together with Henrik Sethsson. In 2005, the band released its debut album, which received five plus by Aftonbladet. The band won the Guldklaven award in 2006, in the category ''Newcomer of the year''. In 2007 the single "Varje liten droppe regn" charted at Sverigetoppen for 24 weeks. In 2007, Andreas Wistrand recorded the Christmas single "Du är det enda jag vill ha" with Sandra Oxenryd, and the song was written by Thomas G:son, Henrik Sethsson and Ulf Georgsson. The band participated at Dansbandskampen 2008 and 2009. In 2010, the band participated at Melodifestivalen together with MiSt, performing the song ''Come and Get Me Now'', (written by Mia Terngård and Stefan Lebert), in which they were knocked out, finishing in 7th place. Dansbandskampen is a television show established by Peter Settman and his production company Baluba. Peter Settman is also the show host. The show is broadcast over Sveriges Television, with season 1 airing October–December 2008. In 2008, five bands participated each week. Each week consisted of one moment where the bands were free to perform a pop or rock song, followed up by the second moment, ''Dansbandsklassikern'' ("The dansband classic"), where a famous dansband song was performed, chosen by drawing. The finalist bands are given an own, new own-produced song, followed up by the two remaining bands performing their own version of a song. There are discussions of spreading the concept outside Sweden, with a disco/folk music version in Poland and a country music version in the United States. Ulf Georg Georgsson (born 22 April 1962 in Kinna Parish in former Älvsborg County, Sweden), is a Swedish songwriter, who has participated at Melodifestivalen as a songwriter, and written songs recorded by, among other, Lasse Stefanz, Vikingarna, Playtones, Drifters, Zekes, CC & Lee, Black Jack, Barbados, Friends and Frøya. Sandra Oxenryd
Sandra Oxenryd (born 1 October 1982) is a Swedish singer who won Fame Factory in 2005, and represented Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006. Biography Oxenryd was born in Kristinehamn and is a former economics student and floorball player. Aged eleven, she started her singing career by performing on national television. At 18, she placed second in a look-alike competition, where she mirrored Swedish superstar Carola Häggkvist. After winning the Swedish Fame Factory in 2005, Sandra recorded her debut album.
