Hermann Salzner
Hermann Salzner ( Linz, 15 July 1928 – 30 October 2010) was an Austrian sprint canoeist who competed from the mid-1950s to the early 1960s. He won a bronze medal in the K-1 4 x 500 m event at the 1954 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Mâcon. 1954 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships
The 1954 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships were held in Mâcon, France. This event was held under the auspices of the International Canoe Federation. The men's competition consisted of four Canadian (single paddle, open boat) and nine kayak events. Two events were held for the women, both in kayak. The type or number of events held at the championships remained unchanged from the previous championships. This was the fourth championships in canoe sprint. Mâcon (), historically anglicised as Mascon, is a city in east-central France. It is the prefecture of the department of Saône-et-Loire in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. The 1956 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the XVI Olympiad, were an international multi-sport event held in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, from 22 November to 8 December 1956, with the exception of the equestrian events, which were held in Stockholm, Sweden, in June 1956. These Games were the first to be staged in the Southern Hemisphere and Oceania, as well as the first to be held outside Europe and North America. Melbourne is the most southerly city ever to host the Olympics.
