Heinz Chen
The Austrian- Taiwanese pianist and pedagogue Heinz Chen (born 1983 in Vienna) was artistic director of the Beigang International Music Festival between 2006 and 2009. Today he lives in Berlin, Germany. Heinz Chen studied piano playing at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna with Wolfgang Watzinger, at the Sibelius Academy with Erik T. Tawaststjerna and at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold with Anatol Ugorski. He also studied composition and music theory at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna. He was awarded in 2002 with the Bösendorfer-scholarship, 2006 with the first prize at the Helmi-Vesa piano competition in Helsinki and 2008 with the ''Special prize for his stage charm'' at the international piano competition in Santorini, Greece. Anna Krauja
Anna Krauja Čena (born 1981) is a lyric soprano from Latvia. Born in Riga, Anna Krauja was elected ''International Mini Miss'' in a competition at the Latvian National Theatre in 1993 and was the first Latvian child to win this award. At her appearance she sang a song by Latvian composer Imants Kalniņš and received also the audience award. This success encouraged her already in childhood to become a singer. Anna Krauja studied at the Latvian music academy ''Jāzepa Vītola Latvijas Mūzikas akadēmija'' with Kristīne Gailīte and at the Sibelius Academy with Marjut Hannula. In 2007 she performed at the Latvian National Opera the role of Achille in the opera Deidamia under the conductor Māris Kupčs auf. The European Youth Parliament is a politically unbound non-profit organisation, which encourages European youth to actively engage in citizenship and cultural understanding. It involves 50,000 youngsters from all around Europe in its events and has around 6,000 active members in the different countries. It was established in 1987 in Fontainebleau, France. Beigang, Hokkō or Peikang is an urban township in Yunlin County, Taiwan. It is primarily known for its Chaotian Temple, one of the most prominent Temples of Mazu on Taiwan. Yunlin County
Yunlin County (Mandarin pinyin: ''Yúnlín Xiàn''; Taigi POJ: ''Hûn-lîm-koān''; Hakka PFS: ''Yùn-lìm-yen'') is a county in western Taiwan. Fritz Kreisler
Friedrich "Fritz" Kreisler (February 2, 1875 – January 29, 1962) was an Austrian-born American violinist and composer. One of the most noted violin masters of his day, and regarded as one of the greatest violinists of all time, he was known for his sweet tone and expressive phrasing. Like many great violinists of his generation, he produced a characteristic sound which was immediately recognizable as his own. Although it derived in many respects from the Franco-Belgian school, his style is nonetheless reminiscent of the '' gemütlich'' (cozy) lifestyle of pre-war Vienna. Biography Kreisler was born in Vienna, the son of Anna (née Reches) and Samuel Kreisler, a doctor. Of Jewish heritage, he was however baptised at the age of 12.
