Wangsa Maju is a township and a constituency in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This area is surrounded by Setapak, Taman Melati and Gombak district in Selangor. Wangsa Maju is one of the largest townships in Kuala Lumpur and consists of many sections — Section 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 and 10. History The present site of Wangsa Maju was previously occupied by Setapak rubber estates named as “Hawthornden” from the 1900s until the 1980s, when the township was formed in 1984. Following the opening of Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TARC) & Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Wangsa Maju has since become a major residential area for the students of TARC & UTAR. The Road Transport Department Malaysia, (Malay: ''Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan Malaysia'', abbreviated JPJ), is a government department under the Malaysian Ministry of Transport. Genting Klang–Pahang Highway
The Genting Klang–Pahang Highway or officially Jalan Genting Klang and Jalan Pahang, as it is locally known (Federal Route 2), is a major highway in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The Genting Klang–Pahang Highway connects a number of urban and residential areas like Titiwangsa, Sentul, Setapak, Taman P.Ramlee Wangsa Maju, Taman Bunga Raya, Taman Melati, Taman Permata, Hulu Kelang, Taman Melawati and Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman to the city. Sri Rampai LRT Station
Sri Rampai LRT station is a rapid transit station in northern Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, forming part of the Kelana Jaya Line (formerly known as PUTRA). The station, named after the nearby ''Taman Sri Rampai'' housing estate to the west, is located along the border between Taman Sri Rampai and Wangsa Maju to the east. History While construction of the station started along with the rest of the line in 1996, it was halted in 1997 due to low population in the surrounding area and the cancellation of a housing project nearby. Rapid KL (styled as ''rapidKL'') is a public transportation system owned by Prasarana Malaysia and operated by its subsidiaries Rapid Rail and Rapid Bus. With its coverage throughout Kuala Lumpur and Klang Valley areas, it was followed by a federal government restructuring of public transport systems in Kuala Lumpur after the bankruptcy of STAR and PUTRA Light Rapid Transit operators, the precursors to the Ampang/Sri Petaling Lines and Kelana Jaya Line respectively. Setapak Central, previously known as KL Festival City, is a shopping mall located along Jalan Genting Klang in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is situated in Danau Kota, a township in Setapak.
