Harestua Station ( no, Harestua holdeplass) is a railway station on the Gjøvik Line at Harestua in Lunner, Norway. Situated at from Oslo Central Station (Oslo S), it consists of a side platform along a section of single track. It is served by line L1 of the Oslo Commuter Rail and regional trains on line R30, both operated by Vy Gjøvikbanen, each operating every two hours. The station opened about to the north on 3 June 1984 and was originally named Furumo. In 2012 work started on building a new station, which would replace both the old Furumo Station and the old Harestua Station. Harestua is a town in Lunner kommune, Viken county, Norway. It has 2318 inhabitants. Harestua is located 46 kilometeres north of Oslo, and functions as a commuter town to the capital. It is served by Harestua Station on the Gjøvik Line. Harestua maintains 6 neighbourhoods; Gamlefeltet, Nyfeltet, Vestbygda, Bjørgeseter, Haneknemoen, Haganskogen and Stryken. The station is the terminus for the Oslo Commuter Rail, but is also served by regional trains that continue to Gjøvik. Both services are provided by Vy Gjøvikbanen. History The station was opened in 1900 as a station on the North Line between Grefsen and Røykenvik. NSB Class 69 ( no, NSB type 69) is an electric multiple unit used by Norwegian State Railways for a variety of commuter trains on the Norwegian railway system, as well as a few medium distance and branch line trains. It is the most common type of trainset in Norway, although the newer NSB Class 72 has also been introduced. All the trains were built by Strømmen. Nordmarka
Nordmarka is the mostly forested region which makes up the northern part of Oslo, Norway. Nordmarka is the largest and most central part of Oslomarka. The area called Nordmarka also extends into the municipalities of Hole, Ringerike, Lunner, Jevnaker and Nittedal. It is the largest part of the Marka borough. The forests are popular sites for hiking, biking and skiing. Winter sport is mostly possible from December until March, in cold winters also until April or the beginning of May in some areas. Most of the forests are protected, and it is not possible to obtain building permits for cabins in the area. There are, however, many cabins already in Nordmarka with cafes and overnighting accommodation.
