Hans Prade
Hans Orlando Prade (23 July 1938 – 3 April 2020) was a Surinamese diplomat and politician. After graduating from Leiden University, Prade returned to Suriname, and founded the short lived Nationale Volkspartij together with Ronald Venetiaan. Later Prade became a member of the Progressieve Nationale Partij. During the coup, Prade was a commentator on Suriname radio. Prade served as the Surinamese ambassador to the Netherlands from 24 December 1980 until 1 June 1982. His political and undiplomatic statements were not appreciated by the regime and he was dismissed on 1 June 1982. In 1986, Prade became chairman of the , a position which he held for about 10 years. In 1991, he tried to run for President of Suriname, but lost out to his former college friend Venetiaan. In 1998, Prade retired and decided to live with his family in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Wim Van Eer
Willem Frederik "Wim" van Eer (19 December 1927 – 2 July 2011) was a Surinamese diplomat and educator. He served as Minister Plenipotentiary of Suriname from 1 April 1974 until the Independence of Suriname on 25 November 1975. Subsequently, he was appointed first Ambassador of Suriname to the Netherlands and served until 20 May 1980. Biography Van Eer was born on 19 December 1927 in Paramaribo. He studied pedagogy at the Nuts Academy in Rotterdam, and subsequently at the University of Utrecht. Van Eer was one of the founders of the Surinamese in Rotterdam Foundation. In 1964, he returned to Suriname and became the principal of the ''kweekschool'' (normal school) in Paramaribo. He became a member of the National Party of Suriname. Ronald Venetiaan
Ronald Runaldo Venetiaan (born 18 June 1936) is a former politician who served as the 6th President of Suriname. Biography Venetiaan was born in Paramaribo. In 1955, Venetiaan left Suriname to study mathematics and physics at the University of Leiden. In 1964, he obtained his doctorandus, and returned to Suriname to become a mathematics and physics teacher. In 1973 Venetiaan was Minister of Education for the National Party of Suriname (NPS) in the government of Henck Arron. He was disposed by the 1980 Surinamese coup d'état. Venetiaan decided to teach at the Anton de Kom University. In 1987, Venetiaan returned to politics as the Chairman of the National Party of Suriname, and as the Minister of Education.
