Georgios Lykoudis
Georgios Lykoudis ( el, Γιώργος Λυκούδης, born ) is a retired Greek male volleyball player and volleyball coach currently coaching Panachaiki. He has 154 appearances with Greece men's national volleyball team. He played for Olympiacos for 6 years (1988-1996), winning 6 consecutive Greek Championships, 4 Greek Cups and the 1995–96 CEV Cup Winners Cup. In 1993 (while still an active player) he became head coach of Olympiacos Women's Volleyball Team and coached the team for 3 years. In 2002 he became assistant coach of Olympiacos. In 2006-07 he was appointed head coach Olympiacos Women's Volleyball Team for the second time and in 2009 he became head coach of Greece women's national volleyball team. Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. The complete set of rules is extensive, but play essentially proceeds as follows: a player on one of the teams begins a 'rally' by serving the ball (tossing or releasing it and then hitting it with a hand or arm), from behind the back boundary line of the court, over the net, and into the receiving team's court. Panachaiki Volleyball Club
Panachaiki Volleyball Club is the volleyball department of Panachaiki, a multi-sport club based in Patras. It was founded in 1928. Its home is the Panachaiki Indoor Hall. In the 2013-14 season the team played in the A1 Ethniki (first division) for the first time. History Panachaiki participated in the 1937-38 Panhellenic championship. The final stage of this championship took place in Patras and the winner was E.A. Patras, the other volleyball Club of Patras. Panachaiki also took place in the 1961-62 Panhellenic championship but was disqualified early. Since the 1970s, Panachaiki has been mostly participating in Gamma and Beta Ethniki (fourth and third division respectively). The A1 Ethniki ( el, Α1 Εθνική Κατηγορία), often referred to as the Greek Volleyball League, is the highest professional volleyball league in Greece. It is run by the Hellenic Volleyball Federation. Greek Volleyball Cup
The Greek Volleyball Cup began with 1980–81 season. It is organized by Hellenic Volleyball Federation. The competition was not held sometimes in the past for financial reasons . Olympiacos won the first Cup in 1981 and is the most successful club, having won the title 16 times. PAOK are the current Cup holders. In season 2008–09, it was carried out the final four tournament, but the tournament wasn't carried out and the next years because of riots in the place of final four's tournament, between the fans of Olympiacos and Panathinaikos. Olympiacos women's volleyball team ( el, Ολυμπιακός, ), commonly referred to as Olympiacos, Olympiacos Piraeus or with its full name as Olympiacos CFP, is the women's volleyball department of the major Greek multi-sport club, Olympiacos CFP, based in Piraeus, Attica. The department was founded in 1930 and their home ground is the Melina Mercouri Indoor Hall in Agios Ioannis Rentis, Piraeus. Olympiacos is one of the most successful volleyball clubs in Greece and the country's most successful in European competitions, having won 8 League titles, a record 9 Cups, a record 7 Doubles, a CEV Challenge Cup (2018) and a Continental Treble (2018), the only women's volleyball club in Greece to have won a European title.
