Greek Volleyball Cup
The Greek Volleyball Cup began with 1980–81 season. It is organized by Hellenic Volleyball Federation. The competition was not held sometimes in the past for financial reasons . Olympiacos won the first Cup in 1981 and is the most successful club, having won the title 16 times. PAOK are the current Cup holders. In season 2008–09, it was carried out the final four tournament, but the tournament wasn't carried out and the next years because of riots in the place of final four's tournament, between the fans of Olympiacos and Panathinaikos. By the season 2011–12, the final four tournament is taken place again. From 2003 to 2012 in the competitions were taking part clubs of first division only. A1 Ethniki Volleyball
The A1 Ethniki ( el, Α1 Εθνική Κατηγορία), often referred to as the Greek Volleyball League, is the highest professional volleyball league in Greece. It is run by the Hellenic Volleyball Federation. It is considered one of the top national leagues in European volleyball, as its clubs have made significant success in European competitions. Aris Thessaloniki Volleyball Club
Aris Thessaloniki Volleyball Club is the professional volleyball team of A.C. Aris Thessaloniki, the major multi-sport club of Thessaloniki, Greece. Aris VC participates in the A2 League and it is one of the most historical teams of the whole club and of the most stable values of the Greek volleyball, inside and outside its borders. History Aris was the first team to end Olympiacos and Panathinaikos domination of the sport, conquering the Greek Championship in 1997. Xanthi ( el, Ξάνθη, ''Xánthi'', ) is a city in the region of Western Thrace, northeastern Greece. Xanthi Arena, AKA Philippos Amiridis Arena is an indoor sporting arena that is located in the city of Xanthi, in the region of Western Thrace, Greece. Gymnasticos Syllogos Iraklis ( el, Γυμναστικός Σύλλογος Ηρακλής, en, Gymnastics Club Heracles), commonly referred to as Iraklis, is a Greek multi-sports club based in Thessaloniki. The club was founded in 1908 as "Macedonikos Gymnasticos Syllogos" (''Macedonian Gymnastics Club'') and is one of the oldest and most historic sports-clubs in Greece. Lamia ( el, Λαμία, ''Lamía'', ) is a city in central Greece. The city dates back to antiquity, and is today the capital of the regional unit of Phthiotis and of the Central Greece region (comprising five regional units).
