Geir Lysne
Geir Øystein Lysne (born 9 October 1965 in Trondheim, Norway) is a Norwegian jazz musician (saxophone, flute, composer, arranger) and a famous Big Band leader. Career Geir Lysne is a Norwegian conductor, composer, produser and teacher, educated from the Norwegian Academy of Music with jazz saxophone and composition as his main subjects. Lysne is internationally well known on the big band, wind ensemble, and partly on the classical orchestra scene. Since 2016 he has been the chief conductor of the radiojazzorchestra of Hamburg - NDR big band. Since 2013 he has been Musical director for Norwegian Wind Ensemble in their 'realtime music' productions. With his unique methods in orchestra improvisation, he already has had notable success with this classical orchestra. Geir Lysne Listening Ensemble
Geir Lysne Listening Ensemble is a 20-piece big band led by Geir Lysne established in 1999. The band has gained international fame, especially in Germany for the performances of Lysnes compositions. The music is in the genre jazz and contemporary music. Biography For the work ''M.B.'' the ensemble was nominated for the Edvard Prize (2000). The poem «Hornelen» by Jakob Sande introduced the four-piece suite, ''Aurora Borealis'' (Groove Records, 2000), followed up with'' Live in Berlin - Aurora Borealis'' (ACT, 2002) from the Berlin Jazz Festival (2001) that gave the band a great breakthrough in Germany. Oslo

The Staff Band of the Norwegian Armed Forces ( no, Forsvarets stabsmusikkorps, FSMK) is the foremost of the military bands of the Norwegian Armed Forces and Norway's largest professional wind band, employing 39 full-time musicians. The band is based in Oslo and participates in parades and ceremonies for Norwegian royalty, the government and the armed forces, and tours throughout Norway and abroad. Halden (), between 1665 and 1928 known as Fredrikshald, is both a town and a municipality in Viken county, Norway. Klüvers Big Band
Klüvers Big Band is a Danish big band. It was formed in 1977 by a group of young music students under the leadership of Jens Klüver. Since then the orchestra has worked with a long line of international and Danish soloists. It has recently toured in Europe with Kurt Elling. In 2002 Klüver received the Ben Webster Prize in recognition of his work with the big band.
