Gunadasa Kapuge
Ellamulla Kapuge Gunadasa ( Sinhala: ගුණදාස කපුගේ; 7 August 1945–3 April 2003) popularly known as Gunadasa Kapuge, was a Sri Lankan singer, musician, music director and playback singer. He was well known among Sri Lankans due to the philosophical background of his music renditions and lyrics selected for his work. Personal life Kapuge was born on August 7, 1945 in the tiny village of Thanabaddegama in Elpitiya. His father was Ellalamulla Kapuge Francis and mother was Dona Alice Nona Siribaddana. Being the second of eight siblings, he attended Karandeniya Central College up to grade five and the latter part at Dharmasoka College in Ambalangoda, where he initially studied science before switching to music. Elpitiya
Elpitiya is a town in Galle District, Southern Province, Sri Lanka. Elpitiya is easily accessible from the Southern Expressway (Sri Lanka). The city is located away from the Kurudugahahetekma Interchange. Elpitiya is also accessible from Colombo - Galle main road and is about from Ambalangoda. Sugathapala De Silva (4 August 1928 – 28 October 2002) was an acclaimed Sri Lankan dramatist and novelist, translator, radio play producer, and Sinhala Radio Play writer. Biography Early life Sugathapala De Silva was born on 4 August 1928 Midigama (weligama, Matara), downsouth town 130 kilometres from Colombo to the son of a small trader. He grew up there, among Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim traders. His childhood experiences would later influence him to write the novels ''Ikbithi Siyalloma Sathutin Jeevathvuha'' and ''Esewenam Minisune Me Asaw''. ''Madol Duwa'' (Sinhala, ''Mangrove Island'') is a 1976 Sri Lankan drama film directed by Lester James Peries and produced by Upasena Marasinghe. The film stars Ajith Jinadasa as Upali, a young rebellious youth who travels to a small island to get away from the restrictive society around him. The film is based on Martin Wickremasinghe's 1947 novel ''Madol Doova''. It was a commercial success. Dr. Dharmasiri Bandaranayake (born 06th of October 1949) is a Sri Lankan film director and playwright. Particularly work as a playwright, Bandaranayake is an artist who attempts to connect the sociopolitical environment with the civil society through art. Career Bandaranyake's debut ''Hansa Vilak'' in 1980 dealt with facets of a society at odds with itself. Malani Bulathsinhala
Malani Bulathsinhala (12 December 1949 - 29 March 2001: si, මාලනී බුලත්සිංහල) was a Sri Lankan singer. She began her musical career at age 10 with the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation. Personal life Bulathsinhala was born on 12 December 1949, in Boralesgamuwa, the oldest child of Wilson and P. K. Bulathsinhala. She had two siblings, a brother, Sireshan, and sister, Sandhya. She completed her education at the Papiliyana Beacon School for Girls. She also served as Assistant Director of Education in the western Sri Lankan province of Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte. She married fellow musician Hearth Muidiyanselage Jayawardena on 30 December 1978, and was the mother of musician Kasun Kalhara.
