Dharmasiri Bandaranayake
Dr. Dharmasiri Bandaranayake (born 06th of October 1949) is a Sri Lankan film director and playwright. Particularly work as a playwright, Bandaranayake is an artist who attempts to connect the sociopolitical environment with the civil society through art. Career Bandaranyake's debut ''Hansa Vilak'' in 1980 dealt with facets of a society at odds with itself. His other films like ''Thunveni Yamaya'' (1983), ''Suddilage Kathaawa'' (1984), ''Bawa Duka'' and ''Bawa Karma'' (1997) followed similar themes. Two films ''Bawa Duka'' and ''Bawa Karma'' challenged the repressive dogma of Buddhism in Sri Lanka. Common arcs in Bandaranayake's films follow the conflicted lives of men and women, transformation of private lives into public affairs, the unpleasant reality of marriage and society and the dark side of human desire. Wadduwa
Wadduwa ( si, වාද්දුව, ta, வடுவா) is a town in the Western Province of Sri Lanka. It is situated on the western coast of Sri Lanka, about south of Colombo. It spans from 30.5 to 36.5 km area along the Galle Road, 4.5 km to the land side and 1 km to the seaside. It is also famous for its rich cultivation of coconut palms and as a major producer of toddy and vinegar. ''Bora Diya Pokuna'' ( si, බොරදිය පොකුණ) is a 2015 Sri Lankan Sinhala adult drama film directed by Sathyajith Maitipe and produced by Sunil Dharmasiri. It stars Kaushalya Fernando and Dilani Abeywardana in lead roles along with Priyanka Samaraweera and Duminda de Silva. Music composed by Pradeep Ratnayaka. It is the 1222nd Sri Lankan film in the Sinhala cinema. The film was screened at Smithsonian Institution in Washington on 5 December 2004. The film production was completed in 2003, but banned by the Public Performance Board of Sri Lanka, until it was granted in 2010 for showing in 2015. ''Veera Puran Appu'' ( si, වීර පුරන් අප්පු, italic=yes) is a 1978 Sri Lankan Sinhala epic biographical film directed by Lester James Peries and produced by former cabinet minister Tyronne Fernando for Shalanka Films.
