Gold Coast District Cricket Club
The Gold Coast District Cricket Club is a cricket club on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia who play in the Queensland Premier Cricket competition. The club was founded in 1990. It has won the Queensland Premier Cricket First Grade Premiership twice, in the 2002/03 and 2008/09 seasons, the competitions One-Day Premiership twice, in 1992/93 and 2009/10, and the Twenty20 Premiership twice in 2009/10 and 2020/21. They are reigning Queensland Premier Cricket T20 Champions. History The club was founded in 1990 to provide development for Gold Coast cricket talent and a pathway to First-class cricket. It entered Brisbane grade cricket as the Colts team had been disbanded shortly prior leaving a vacancy in the competition. In 2018 the Queensland State Government Female Friendly Facilities Fund provided $500,000 to upgrade changing rooms for players and officials at Bill Pippen Oval, Kerrydale. Chris Swan
Christopher Richard Swan (born 10 August 1978) is an Australian professional cricketer. He is a right-arm swing bowler who played for Queensland between 2006 and 2012. Swan was born at Southport, Queensland in 1978. Before playing first-class cricket, Swan played for the Gold Coast Dolphins in Queensland's grade cricket premiership. He once took nine wickets in an innings for the Dolphins and became the club's captain and coach. He made his debut for Queensland at the age of 28 in a four-day match against New South Wales in October 2006. Despite taking five wickets in the match, it would be more than a year before he played for Queensland again. Greg Moller (born 29 January 1983) is an Australian cricketer who has played 21 first-class matches and 12 List A matches. Cricket career Moller began his cricket career in Boonah playing as an opening bat and wicketkeeper for Fassifern Under-11's and later moved to the Beaudesert competition. Andrew Symonds (9 June 1975 – 14 May 2022) was an Australian international cricketer, who played all three formats as a batting all-rounder. Commonly nicknamed "Roy", he was a key member of two World Cup winning squads. Symonds played as a right-handed, middle order batsman and alternated between medium pace and off-spin bowling. Steve Storey (born 23 November 1964) is an Australian cricketer who was a left-arm spin-bowling allrounder. He played in twenty first-class and seven List A matches for Queensland between 1989 and 1994. Career Storey was from Newcastle and began his cricket career with Wallsend District Cricket Club in Newcastle District Cricket before playing two seasons for Mosman in Sydney Grade Cricket. However, he disliked living in Sydney and moved to Queensland as he had a brother who lived on the Gold Coast. He made his First-class debut for Queensland in 1989 against South Australia at the Gabba and he performed well with the bat; a report stated that he "proved it was a stage on which he belongs". John Patrick Stephenson (born 14 March 1965) is an English former first-class cricketer, who is currently CEO at Essex County Cricket Club. Andrew Robinson (born 10 June 1981) is an Australian cricketer. He played in twelve first-class and seven List A matches for Queensland between 2010 and 2012. Bruce Nicholas James Oxenford (born 5 March 1960) is a former Australian cricket umpire and a former cricketer. He has been an ICC international umpire since 2008, when he first umpired an ODI match. He went on to stand in his first Test match in 2010. On 26 September 2012, he was promoted to the ICC Elite Umpire Panel, the highest umpiring body in the game of cricket, replacing his fellow Australian Simon Taufel, who retired from the panel to take up a newly created ICC supervisory and training position. Michael Gertges Neser (born 29 March 1990) is an Australian professional cricketer.
