Steve Storey
Steve Storey (born 23 November 1964) is an Australian cricketer who was a left-arm spin-bowling allrounder. He played in twenty first-class and seven List A matches for Queensland between 1989 and 1994. Career Storey was from Newcastle and began his cricket career with Wallsend District Cricket Club in Newcastle District Cricket before playing two seasons for Mosman in Sydney Grade Cricket. However, he disliked living in Sydney and moved to Queensland as he had a brother who lived on the Gold Coast. He made his First-class debut for Queensland in 1989 against South Australia at the Gabba and he performed well with the bat; a report stated that he "proved it was a stage on which he belongs". Allan Border, who played in the match, said in an interview shortly after Storey's innings "I was very impressed with that debut. He made me look ordinary." Mona Vale, New South Wales
Mona Vale is a suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is located 28 kilometres north of the Sydney central business district, in an area known as the Northern Beaches. Formerly the administrative centre of Pittwater Council, it is now located in the local government area of Northern Beaches Council. The traditional custodians of the area are the Garigal people. It is often colloquially referred to as "Mona". History The area was known as "Bongin Bongin" by Aboriginal Peoples. The initial land grants in the district of Pittwater were not made until April 1813, and those sections which now comprise Mona Vale, first surveyed in May 1814, were granted to Robert Campbell (1769-1846). Gold Coast District Cricket Club
The Gold Coast District Cricket Club is a cricket club on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia who play in the Queensland Premier Cricket competition. The club was founded in 1990. It has won the Queensland Premier Cricket First Grade Premiership twice, in the 2002/03 and 2008/09 seasons, the competitions One-Day Premiership twice, in 1992/93 and 2009/10, and the Twenty20 Premiership twice in 2009/10 and 2020/21. They are reigning Queensland Premier Cricket T20 Champions. History The club was founded in 1990 to provide development for Gold Coast cricket talent and a pathway to First-class cricket. Stuart Law
Stuart Grant Law (born 18 October 1968) is an Australian-born cricket coach and former cricketer. He played one Test and 54 One Day Internationals (ODIs) for Australia. Law also captained Queensland to five Sheffield Shield titles and two one day trophies, making him the most successful captain in Australian domestic cricket; he is also Queensland's all-time leading run scorer in first-class cricket. He is also a cricket coach,who has coached Sri Lanka, Bangladesh (2011–2012), West Indies (2018-2019) and Middlesex (2019–2021). Domestic career After a couple of seasons with the Australian youth team, Law made his first-class debut for Queensland in the 1988/89 Sheffield Shield, scoring 179 in his second match. South Brisbane District Cricket Club
South Brisbane District Cricket Club is a cricket club in South Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. They were founded in 1897 and compete in the Queensland Premier Cricket competition. South Brisbane is the equal most successful side in the Queensland Premier Cricket First-grade competition having 21 Premierships alongside Toombul. They dominated the 1900s winning the premiership in six out of ten seasons in the decade, and also notably won three consecutive premierships from 1962 to 1964, but the club has also achieved success consistently throughout its history winning premierships in every decade except the 1920s and 1950s, however it has not found success in recent years winning its last First-grade premiership in 2001. Peter Laurence Taylor (born 22 August 1956) is a former Australian cricketer who played in 13 Test matches and 83 One Day Internationals between 1987 and 1992. Brisbane Grade Cricket
Queensland Premier Cricket is the top cricket competition played in Queensland, Australia. The competition was founded under the name Brisbane Electoral Cricket in 1897 and eventually came to be known as Brisbane Grade Cricket, but has since expanded to take in teams from Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, and Ipswich. As of the 2019/20 season there were six grades in the Two-Day Bulls Masters competition. In addition to the two-day Grade competition there is also a One-Day competition for the John McKnoulty Cup and a T20 competition for the Tom Veivers Trophy. Bob Hawke
Robert James Lee Hawke (9 December 1929 – 16 May 2019) was an Australian politician and union organiser who served as the 23rd prime minister of Australia from 1983 to 1991, holding office as the leader of the Australian Labor Party (ALP).
