Geprek Bensu
Geprek Bensu is an Indonesia-based fast food restaurant chain primarily serving ayam geprek. As of December 2018, the chain had 110 franchises in Indonesia, employing an estimated 3,500 people. The chain also operates in Hong Kong and Malaysia, and plans to expand to Taiwan and the Netherlands. The chain is owned by Indonesian actor Ruben Onsu, in his capacity as chief executive officer of PT Onsu Pangan Perkasa (OPP) founded on 17 April 2017. Branding disputes The chain has been involved in trademark disputes against eateries with the same name. Kemang
Kemang is a neighborhood in southern part of Jakarta, Indonesia. The area is located mostly in Bangka subdistrict of Mampang Prapatan and partly within Pejaten subdistrict of Pasar Minggu. The main area of Kemang is marked by the roads of Kemang Raya, Prapanca, and Bangka Streets. Etymology The name Kemang came from the fruit ''kemang'', a species of mango ('' Mangifera kemanga''). History Kemang was originally a kampung (village) which has been gentrified into an expatriate residential area. The gentrification of Kemang started after the end of the 1970s. The adjacent Bangka kampung, which was also gentrified, is sometimes referred as "Kemang" as well, although this was originally a different village. Currently ''ayam geprek'' is commonly found in Indonesia and neighbouring countries, however its origin was from Yogyakarta in Java. ''Geprek'' is Javanese term for "crushed" or "smashed", thus ''ayam geprek'' means "crushed chicken". It is quite similar to traditional East Javanese ''ayam penyet'', as both are fried chicken smashed and mixed together with hot and spicy ''sambal'' chili paste. The difference is ''ayam penyet'' is a traditional Javanese '' ayam goreng'' half-cooked in '' bumbu kuning'' (yellow spice paste) and then deep fried in hot palm oil.
