Gemma Royo
Gemma Royo Lorte (born 20 March 1975) is a Spanish retired rhythmic gymnast. She was World champion in 1991 and two-time European champion in 1992. The generation of gymnasts that she was part of is known by the nickname "Primeras Chicas de Oro". Biography Gemma tool up the sport in 1982 at Club Escuela de Gimnasia Rítmica of Zaragoza. Trained by Chus Garcés, she would participate in several Spanish Championships in different categories: children, pre-junior, junior and first category. In 1987 she got bronze i ex aequo with Rosabel Espinosa in Palma de Mallorca. That same year she also became champion of Aragon and soon after, in the Spanish Group Championships held in Onteniente won another bronze in the children category. Cristina Chapuli Egido (born 18 January 1975) is a retired Spanish rhythmic gymnast. She was World champion in 1991. The generation of gymnasts that she was part of is known by the nickname "Primeras Chicas de Oro". Biography Cristina started her sport career at the Club Atlético Montemar in her native Alicante, a club that saw the rise of other prominent gymnasts such as Carolina Pascual, Marta Baldó and Estela Giménez. In 1989 she was called up by the Spanish national team to join the junior group, trained by Rosa Menor, Paqui Maneus, Cathy Xaudaró and Berta Veiga. Catherine Xaudaró Apellániz (born 30 April 1960) is a Spanish former Rhythmic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnast. She won a bronze medal at Worlds in 1975. Career Although she was born in the Philippines, due to martial law around 1970 she moved with her family to live in Spain. Initially, after being discovered by Carmen Algora, she began practicing artistic gymnastics in the gymnastics section of the Real Madrid Football Club. In 1973 he moved with his coach to practice rhythmic gymnastics at the Club Cuartel de la Montaña. This, together with Club Moscardó, were the only two gymnastics clubs in Madrid at the time. Montserrat Martín López (born 2 December 1974), also known as Montse Martín, is a retired Spanish rhythmic gymnast, graphic designer, painter, illustrator, actress and dancer. Noelia Fernández Navarro (born 21 September 1976) is a former Spanish rhythmic gymnast. She's a multiple medalist at the European Championships. Carolina Pascual
Carolina Pascual Gracia (born 17 June 1976 in Orihuela, Alicante) is a former Spanish Individual Rhythmic Gymnast. She is the 1992 Olympics silver medalist and the 1993 European all-around bronze medalist. Career Pascual was doing ballet when at age seven her ballet teacher told her mother that her daughter had excellent qualities for Rhythmic Gymnastics. There was not a club in her town so, her mother drove for around an hour to get Pascual to and from training sessions at the Escuela de Competición in Murcia. Pascual later went to the Atlético Montemar in Alicante. Pascual got her breakthrough in 1990 when Spain's head coach, Emilia Boneva, selected Pascual for the National Team. The newcomer was sent to the 1990 European Championships, where she helped the Spanish team win the bronze medal. She also placed 12th in the all-around and qualified for two event finals.
