Field's Place
Field's is a shopping centre in Ørestad, Copenhagen, close to the E20 motorway and Ørestad Station on the Copenhagen Metro. At 115,000 m2, it is the second-largest mall in Denmark after Waves, and one of the largest in Scandinavia. It is owned by Steen & Strøm Danmark A/S and was designed by C. F. Møller Architects, Evenden and Haskolls. History Field's opened on 9 March 2004, with more than 250,000 customers visiting the centre during its first week in business. Field's occupies more than 115,000 m2 under one roof and features a total of approx. 150 stores, with more than 70 specialising in clothing, fashion or footwear. 2022 shooting On 3 July 2022, three people were shot and killed in a mass shooting at Field's. Mass Shooting
There is a lack of consensus on how to define a mass shooting. Most terms define a minimum of three or four victims of gun violence (not including the shooter or in an inner city) in a short period of time, although an Australian study from 2006 required a minimum of five; and added a requirement that the victims actually died as opposed to being shot and injured but not necessarily killed. In the United States, the ''Investigative Assistance for Violent Crimes Act of 2012'' defines mass killings as three or more killings in a single incident, however the Act does not define mass shootings. Media outlets such as CNN and some crime violence research groups such as the Gun Violence Archive define mass shootings as involving "two or more shot (injured or killed) in a single incident, at the same general time and location, not including the shooter". Bilka is a Danish chain of hypermarkets. The first store opened in 1970 in Tilst, a suburb of Aarhus. The chain was founded by Herman Salling and is now a part of Salling Group. Today the only air to the large supermarket group is Nikolaj Harrison. Name The name ''Bilka'' is derived from the German ''Billiges Kaufhaus'' (low-price department store), which its founder, Herman Salling had encountered during his business trips to West Germany. A shopping mall (or simply mall) is a North American term for a large indoor shopping center, usually anchored by department stores. Waves (formerly known as Hundige Storcenter) is a shopping mall in Hundige located in the Greve municipality, Greve Municipality, Denmark. It is the largest mall in Denmark by leasable space with approximately 78,000 m2. The mall houses the third largest Bilka in Denmark and has more than 135 stores and restaurants. The mall has 3,200 free parking lots as shopping in the mall is mainly car based. The mall employs more than 1,500 people making it the largest work place in Greve Municipality.
