FC Spaeri (Georgian: საფეხბურთო კლუბი სპაერი) is a Georgian association football club, based in Tbilisi. Since the 2022 season the club competes in Liga 2, the second tier of Georgian football system. History Spaeri was established in 2017 by five individuals working in the Special State Protection Service. The team mostly consisted of the servicemen of this organization and initially participated in the Amateur League before becoming a member of Regionuli Liga. Spaeri finished the 2018 season as runners-up and obtained the right to take part in the newly created Liga 4. Having won 21 games out of 27, they claimed the first place there with automatic promotion to Liga 3. The debut in the third division was impressive with Spaeri vying for a promotion play-off place up until the last matchday. Eventually, the club came two points short of the third place. 2018 Georgian Cup
The 2018 Georgian Cup was a single elimination association football tournament which began on 16 April 2018 and ended on 25 November 2018. Chikhura Sachkhere were the defending champions of the tournament after winning the previous season's cup 4–3 in a penalty shootout over Torpedo Kutaisi. Format For the 2018 version of the Georgian Cup, the competition was contested between 78 clubs. Matches which were level after regulation proceeded to extra time and then to penalties, when needed, to decide the winning club. The 2023 Georgian Cup was the 34th edition of the national football tournament in Georgia. The winners qualified for the 2024–25 Conference League first qualifying round. 2022 Georgian Cup
The 2022 Georgian Cup was a single knock-out football tournament, organized by Georgian Football Federation. The winner qualified for the first round of the 2023-24 UEFA Europa Conference League season. FC Saburtalo Tbilisi, Saburtalo Tbilisi were the holders, having beaten FC Samgurali Tskhaltubo, Samgurali in the 2021 Georgian Cup, 2021 Cup final. They were eliminated by FC Lokomotive Tbilisi, Lokomotive Tbilisi II in the semifinals. 2022 Erovnuli Liga 2
The 2022 Erovnuli Liga 2 was the sixth season under its current title and the 34th season of second-tier football in Georgia. The four-round competition began on 1 March and ended on 2 December with playoffs completed on 12 December. Format The winner gain automatic promotion to Erovnuli Liga, while the next two teams participate in play-offs against their top-flight rivals. After the initial 13 rounds, an extraordinary situation in late May resulted in early relegation of two clubs to the third tier. Among the remaining eight clubs the bottom two enter a play-off contest against 3rd and 4th teams of Liga 3 at the end of the season. A two-legged tie will be played at each side's home ground. Each team played 28 matches in this shortened season. 2020 Liga 3 (Georgia)
Тhe 2020 Liga 3 season was the fourth one under its current name and 33rd since Georgia formed independent football league system in 1990. Team changes Five new members joined the league after the previous season. Tbilisi City and Spaeri gained promotion from Liga 4, while Guria Lanchkhuti, Kolkheti-1913 and Tskhinvali were relegated from the second division. The latter, though, having failed to meet the existing financial commitments, were expelled and replaced by Gareji Sagarejo, a third place team from the lower league. Review The teams played opening matches of the season in early March, but as COVID was raging, all sport activities were halted. The games resumed in late July. A two-round competition concluded in December with Gareji Sagarejo winning the league. Kolkheti-1913 finished second, while Gori prevailed in a battle for the third qualifying slot. The 2019 Liga 4 was the first season of fourth-tier football in Georgia under its current title. There were ten clubs participating in it. The matches started on 2 April and ended on 18 November.
