2019 Georgian Cup
The 2019 Georgian Cup was a single elimination association football tournament which began in early 2019 and ended on 8 December 2019. The winner of the cup earned a place in the 2020–21 UEFA Europa League. Torpedo Kutaisi were the defending champions of the Cup after winning the final in the previous season in a penalty shoot-out over Gagra. Format In 2019, the Georgian Cup was contested between 58 clubs. All rounds of the competition were decided over one leg. Any match which was level after regulation proceeded to extra time and then to penalties, when needed, to determine the winning club. FC Torpedo Kutaisi
FC Torpedo Kutaisi is a Georgian professional football club based in Kutaisi, Georgia's third largest city. 'Torpedo Kutaisi' was founded in 1946 and in just three years the club became the winner of the Football Championship of that time. Torpedo's home ground is Ramaz Shengelia Stadium. History The Soviet period FC Torpedo Kutaisi was founded in 1946 on the base of Kutaisi Automotive Plant. In 1949 the club became the winner of the Georgian SSR Championship. FC Gareji Sagarejo
FC Gareji is a Georgia (country), Georgian Association football club from Sagarejo, which currently takes part in Erovnuli Liga 2, the second tier of Georgia (country), Georgian football league. The team has recently made headlines after achieving three consecutive promotions. History Established in 1960, during the USSR, Soviet period Gareji for many years participated in Georgian republican championship and later, after 1990, spent several seasons in the second and third divisions. A recent rise of the team started from Regionuli Liga in 2018. FC Kolkheti Khobi
FC Kolkheti Khobi is a Georgian association football club based in the town of Khobi. Following the 2022 season they won promotion to Erovnuli Liga 2, the second tier of Georgian league system. The club has spent several seasons in the top division. History Established in 1936, Kolkheti played many years in Georgian championship during the Soviet Union. In 1988 the club won the title and advanced to the Soviet Second league where the next year they finished in the 5th place. After 1990, when Umaglesi Liga was formed, Kolkheti participated in initial three seasons. Later they spent several years in the second and third divisions. The club returned to the top flight for 1999/2000 season only to finish at the bottom of the table. In 2007, the club rejoined Pirveli Liga, where they played for ten successive seasons. FC Meshakhte Tkibuli
FC Meshakhte is a Georgian association football club based in Tkibuli. Following the 2022 season, the club was relegated to Liga 4, the fourth tier of Georgian football system. History Meshakhte participated in the Georgian Soviet league and twice, in 1980 and 1981, became champions. In 1964 and 1976 they also won the domestic Cup. The club spent 13 seasons in the Soviet third division with the following combined results: The success of the club was attributed to the large coal mine industry based in Tkibuli which financed the local football as well. FC Bakhmaro Chokhatauri
FC Bakhmaro (''Georgian'': საფეხბურთო კლუბი ბახმარო) is a Georgian association football club based in Chokhatauri. The club currently competes in Liga 3, the third tier of the national football system. History FC Bakhmaro have never participated in the top division of Georgian football. In the 1990s they took part in the second league for several seasons and in the mid-2010s the club mostly played in the third division, where they usually stayed in top half of the table. Despite coming 2nd in their group in 2016, Bakhmaro left the third tier in view of reorganization of the entire league system, which meant relegation for a vast majority of clubs. FC Samgurali Tsqaltubo is a Georgian association football club from Tsqaltubo, which takes part in Erovnuli Liga, the first tier of the national league. They have been runners-up of the Georgian Cup three times. History In Soviet and national leagues Formed in 1945 as ''FC Medic'', the football club from Tsqaltubo had the most prolific years in 1980s. Between 1983 and 1990 under the name ''Shadrevani'' they became champions of the Georgian Soviet league three times, once finished as runners-up and once won bronze medals. When Georgian Football Federation formed an independent championship in 1990, Samgurali spent eight out of the initial ten seasons in the top flight. FC Betlemi (''Georgian:'' საფეხბურთო კლუბი ბეთლემი) is a Georgian football club based in the town of Keda, Adjara. The history of Betlemi goes back to the Soviet times. Since the club's revival in 2010, they have drifted between the second and forth tiers. Following a highly successful 2023 season they won promotion to Liga 3. The club plays home matches at the local central stadium named after late captain Archil Partenadze in 2015. FC Matchakhela Khelvachauri
FC Matchakhela is a Georgia (country), Georgian football (soccer), football club based in the town of Khelvachauri. They currently compete in Liga 3 (Georgia), Liga 3, the third tier of the Football in Georgia (country), national league system. History Matchakhela were founded оn the basis of Khelvachauri Sport School in 2011. Amiran Gogitidze, the first head coach, guided the club to Meore Liga, which they won with automatic promotion. FC Alazani Gurjaani is a Georgia (country), Georgian association football club based in Gurjaani in Georgia (country), Georgia, founded in 1964 during the Soviet Union. FC Dinamo Batumi
FC Dinamo Batumi is a Georgian football club based in Batumi, Adjara, and current vice-champion of Erovnuli Liga, the top division of Georgian football system. The club has won the league (2021), the Georgian Cup ( 1997-98) and Super Cup (1997-98, 2022). They have also earned silver medals of the league five times. FC Magaroeli is a Georgia (country), Georgian football (soccer), football club from Chiatura. Following the 2022 season they were relegated to Regionuli Liga, the fifth tier of Football in Georgia (country), Georgian football system. The team has twice participated in the top tier. History Formed in 1923, Chiatura won the Georgian championship in 1975, and also clinched the domestic Cup title in 1978 and 1979.
