FC Dinamo Batumi
FC Dinamo Batumi is a Georgian football club based in Batumi, Adjara, and current vice-champion of Erovnuli Liga, the top division of Georgian football system. The club has won the league (2021), the Georgian Cup ( 1997-98) and Super Cup (1997-98, 2022). They have also earned silver medals of the league five times. In 1990 they changed the name to ''FC Batumi'' only to reverse the decision in 1994. Dinamo plays their home matches at Batumi Stadium. History Early period Prior to the formation of this club, there were some other teams existing in the city. In 1923 newly established two clubs called ''Mezgvauri'' (The Sailor) and ''Tsiteli Raindi'' (The Red Knight) merged and became Dinamo Batumi. Batumi Stadium
The Adjarabet Arena ( ka, ბათუმის სტადიონი, ''batumis st’adioni'') known as Batumi Stadium for sponsorship reasons, is a football stadium in Batumi, Georgia, which was completed in July 2020. The main tenant of the stadium is FC Dinamo Batumi, who moved from their home at the Dinamo Batumi Angisa football base when it was completed. The capacity of the Stadium is 20,000. History Construction began in January 2018 and was completed in July 2020. Its inauguration, postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, took place on 27 October 2020 with an official ceremony in the presence of Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia. Vakhtang Ionovich Koridze ( ka, ვახტანგ ქორიძე) (born 24 December 1949 in Batumi) is a retired Georgian and Soviet football player. He was an integral member of the FC Dinamo Tbilisi side that won the Soviet league championship in 1978 and eliminated Liverpool in the European Cup the following year. The Georgian Erovnuli Liga 2 ( ka, ეროვნული ლიგა 2; ), organized since 1990 by GFF, serves as the second division of professional football in Georgia. Under the current name the league was introduced for the 2017 season as a part of reorganization process of the entire league system. It was formerly known as Pirveli liga (the First league). Structure There are ten clubs competing in Erovnuli Liga 2. During the season each club plays against its rival four times, twice at home and twice away. At the end of each season the winner gains automatic promotion and the bottom club is relegated. The runner-up and 3rd placed team participate in two-legged home and away play-off matches against the respectively 9th and 8th placed clubs of Erovnuli Liga. FC Dinamo Tbilisi ( ka, დინამო თბილისი, ) is a Georgian professional football club based in Tbilisi, Georgia, that competes in the Erovnuli Liga, the top flight of Georgian football. Dinamo Tbilisi was one of the most prominent clubs in Soviet football and a major contender in the Soviet Top League almost immediately after it was established in 1936. The club was then part of one of the leading sport societies in the Soviet Union, the All-Union Dynamo sports society which had several other divisions besides football and was sponsored by the Soviet Ministry of Internal Affairs.
