Frederick Rumball
Frederick George Rumball (December 8, 1853 – October 1, 1940) was a Canadian lumber merchant and politician in Ontario, Canada. He served as mayor of London, Ontario from 1900 to 1901. The son of Benjamin Rumball and Mary Johnson, both natives of England, he was born in Clinton, Huron County, Canada West. Rumball was educated there and apprenticed as a carpenter, later working as a general contractor and then entering the lumber business. He moved to London in 1881. Rumball was president of the Columbia Handle Company, the Southwestern Traction Company, the Monarch Fire Insurance Company of Canada and the Hourde Manufacturing Company. He was first elected to London city council in 1897, serving for two years. He was an unsuccessful candidate for the London seat in the Ontario Legislative Assembly in 1905. London (pronounced ) is a city in southwestern Ontario, Canada, along the Quebec City–Windsor Corridor. The city had a population of 422,324 according to the 2021 Canadian census. Clinton, Ontario
Clinton is a community in the Canadian province of Ontario, located in the municipality of Central Huron. Clinton was established in 1831, when Jonas Gibbings and brothers Peter and Stephen Vanderburg cleared out a small area to start. Clinton started to grow in 1844 when William Rattenbury laid out the plans to begin making a village. In 1954, Clinton's population was 2,625 people. Today, it has an estimated population of 3203. Clinton is known as Canada's home of radar and there is a large radar antenna in the downtown because of its association with RCAF Station Clinton during World War II. Clinton was known as "The Corners" or "Rattenbury Corner" in its earlier days. Huron County is a county of the province of Ontario, Canada. It is located on the southeast shore of its namesake, Lake Huron, in the southwest part of the province. The county seat is Goderich, also the county's largest community. The population reported in the 2021 Census for this predominantly agricultural area with many villages and small towns was 61,366 in a land area of 3,399 square kilometres. The Province of Canada (or the United Province of Canada or the United Canadas) was a British colony in North America from 1841 to 1867. Its formation reflected recommendations made by John Lambton, 1st Earl of Durham, in the Report on the Affairs of British North America following the Rebellions of 1837–1838. The Act of Union 1840, passed on 23 July 1840 by the British Parliament and proclaimed by the Crown on 10 February 1841, merged the Colonies of Upper Canada and Lower Canada by abolishing their separate parliaments and replacing them with a single one with two houses, a Legislative Council as the upper chamber and the Legislative Assembly as the lower chamber. Victoria Hospital (London, Ontario)
Victoria Hospital, in London, Ontario, Canada, is a large teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Western Ontario. Along with University Hospital it is part of London Health Sciences Centre, which itself is the Lead Trauma Hospital of the Southwestern Local Health Integration Network. London's first hospital was housed in a log cabin on the military barracks at Victoria Park, constructed in 1838. The aging hospital was replaced in 1875 by the London General Hospital, constructed on a new site in the city's south end. Pressure on the new hospital from the city's growing population led to a much larger hospital being constructed adjacent to London General Hospital, which was renamed in 1899 for Queen Victoria's diamond jubilee. Rick Nicholls
Frederick Rumball Nicholls (born October 11, 1950) is a former Canadian politician who sat in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 2011 to 2022. He represented the riding of Chatham-Kent—Leamington. Nicholls was originally a member of the Progressive Conservative (PC) Party before he was removed in 2021 due to vaccine hesitancy. In December 2021, he joined the Ontario Party, becoming its first and only member in the legislature until losing his seat in the 2022 election. Background Nicholls was born in Chatham-Kent, Ontario.
