Franklin is a city in and the county seat of Williamson County, Tennessee, United States. About south of Nashville, Tennessee, Nashville, it is one of the principal cities of the Nashville metropolitan area and Middle Tennessee. As of 2020 United States census, 2020, its population was 83,454. It is the List of municipalities in Tennessee, seventh-most populous city in Tennessee. Franklin is known to be the home of many celebrities, primarily country music stars. The city developed on both sides of the Harpeth River, a tributary of the Cumberland River. In the 19th century, Franklin (as the county seat) was the trading and judicial center for primarily rural Williamson County and remained so well into the 20th century as the county remained rural and agricultural in nature. Ferintosh, Black Isle
Ferintosh is the name of an estate in the Black Isle, Ross and Cromarty, Scotland. Urquhart is the name of the parish. The parish of Urquhart is virtually the original Ferintosh barony and was an exclave of Nairnshire until transferred to Ross and Cromarty in 1892 under the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1889. Its owner, Duncan Forbes (1644–1704) of Culloden, was also a major landowner in Nairnshire. In the 21st century, due to amalgamations a Ferintosh "Parish" Church is at nearby Conon Bridge. The former Urquhart Parish Church is close to the Ferintosh Burn (see below).
