Film Festival
A film festival is an organized, extended presentation of films in one or more cinemas or screening venues, usually in a single city or region. Increasingly, film festivals show some films outdoors. Films may be of recent date and, depending upon the festival's focus, can include international and domestic releases. Some film festivals focus on a specific filmmaker, genre of film (e.g. horror films), or on a subject matter. Several film festivals focus solely on presenting short films of a defined maximum length. Film festivals are typically annual events. Some film historians, including Jerry Beck, do not consider film festivals as official releases of the film. Kampala (, ) is the capital and largest city of Uganda. Cinekambiya International Film Festival (CIFF) is an annual film festival held in The Gambia. The festival was founded by Prince Bubacarr Aminata Sankanu in 2015 and has since had three editions. It is supported by German cultural organisation FilmInitiativ Köln. Carthage
Carthage was the capital city of Ancient Carthage, on the eastern side of the Lake of Tunis in what is now Tunisia. The Carthage Film Festival (CFF) is an annual film festival that takes place in Tunis and founded in 1966. The Cairo International Women's Film Festival ( ar, مهرجان القاهرة الدولي لسينما المرأة) or CIWFF is an independent initiative dedicated to introducing films directed by women from around the world — not necessarily addressing women's issues—to explore the perspectives of female filmmakers.
