Akhtaruzzaman (director)
Akhtaruzzaman (1946 or 1947 – August 23, 2011) was a Bangladeshi film director. He was awarded the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Director for his direction of the film ''Poka Makorer Ghor Bosoti'' (1996). The film won awards in eight different categories. Career Akhtaruzzaman directed three films: '' Ferari Basanta'' (1983), ''Princess Tina Khan'' (1984) and ''Poka Makorer Ghor Bosoti'' (1996). He was a teacher at the Film and Media Department in the Stamford University Bangladesh. Akhtaruzzaman died on August 23, 2011. Bulbul Ahmed
Bulbul Ahmed (born Tabarruk Ahmed; 4 September 1941 – 15 July 2010) was a Bangladeshi actor and director. He won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actor award three times for his roles in the films ''Shimana Periye'' (1977), '' Badhu Biday'' (1978) and ''Shesh Uttar'' (1980). Besides, he was the producer of the film ''Rajlakshmi Srikanta'' (1987) which won the Best Film award. Early life and career Ahmed's father, Khalil Ahmed, was a government employee and an amateur actor. Ahmed started his acting career through stage drama in 1965. He began acting in television roles in 1968. He first appeared in films in 1973 as a supporting actor in ''Iye Korey Biye''. He directed a total of four films, ''Rajlakshmi Srikanta'' (1987), ''Akarshan'', ''Gorom Hawa'' and ''Koto Je Apon''. He also produced a film titled ''Jibon Niye Jua.'' Farida Akhtar Poppy, known by her stage name Babita, is a Bangladeshi film actress. She is a popular actress in Bangladeshi films of the 1970s. She is best known for her performance in Satyajit Ray's '' Distant Thunder'', a novel adaptation about the Bengal famine of 1943, which won the Golden Bear prize at the 23rd Berlin International Film Festival in 1973. Baby Helen (known by her stage name Shuchorita; born 1958) is a Bangladeshi film actress. She won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actress for her role in the film ''Hangor Nodi Grenade'' (1997) and Best Supporting Actress for Meghkonna (2018). She has acted in over 100 movies. Background Shuchorita was born in Dhaka, a middle child of the three siblings. Her older sister, Rita, was the one who opened up the path to film industry but after a few films she decided to settle down and work on her married life while Shuchorita hit the spotlight. Sheikh Sadi Khan
Sheikh Sadi Khan (born 1950) is a Bangladeshi composer and music director. He won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Music Director for the film '' Ghani'' (2006) and Best Music Composer for ''Bhalobaslei Ghor Bandha Jay Na'' (2010). He won Ekushey Padak in 2018 by the Government of Bangladesh. Early life and career Khan began his career under the guardianship of his father Ustad Ayet Ali Khan. Bachsas ( Bangladesh Cholochitra Sangbadik Samity) Awards was introduced in 1972 to encourage the fledgling film industry of the country. Bangladesh Cholochchitra Shangbadik Samity (Bangladesh Cine-Journalists' Association) gave out their most prestigious awards to outstanding performers in film, television, music, dance and theatre. Mohammad Moniruzzaman
Mohammad Moniruzzaman (15 August 1936 – 3 September 2008) was a Bangladeshi writer, poet, professor, freedom fighter and lyricist. Career Moniruzzaman received his BA in 1958 and his MA in 1959 from University of Dhaka. In 1969, he got his PhD from on ''Hindu-Muslim relationship in modern Bengali poetry''. He joined the University's Department of Bengali as a teaching advisor in 1959 and became a lecturer in 1962. He became a professor in 1975 and chair of the department in 1978. Mosammat Amirun Nesa Khanam, known by her stage name Rani Sarker (born 1931 or 1932 – died 7 July 2018) was a Bangladeshi film actress. She started her acting career in Bengali cinema in the 1960s.
