Shuchorita
Baby Helen (known by her stage name Shuchorita; born 1958) is a Bangladeshi film actress. She won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actress for her role in the film ''Hangor Nodi Grenade'' (1997) and Best Supporting Actress for Meghkonna (2018). She has acted in over 100 movies. Background Shuchorita was born in Dhaka, a middle child of the three siblings. Her older sister, Rita, was the one who opened up the path to film industry but after a few films she decided to settle down and work on her married life while Shuchorita hit the spotlight. Their younger brother, Manu, died in a fire accident at his home around Eid ul Fitr in 1998. Career Shuchorita got into the film industry through the help of her aunt, Panna, a dance artist herself. Shuchorita started her acting career as a child artist, playing the role of a boy, in the 1969 film ''Bablu''. She was cast as the lead actress in the film ''Shikriti'' in 1972. ''Ostitto'' is a 2016 Bangladeshi romantic drama film directed by Anonno Mamun and produced by Carlos Saleh under the Dream Box LTD. banner. The film stars Nusrat Imrose Tisha as an intellectually-disabled girl and Arifin Shuvoo as her mentor. The plot centers on the love story of two youths, and the struggle of a mentor who helps intellectually-disabled children to win an Olympic medal. ''Ostitto'' was released on 6 May 2016 in Bangladesh. The film received positive reviews from critics, who praised its performance and execution. The Father (1979 Film)
''The Father'' is a Bangladeshi movie, directed by Kazi Hayat and released in 1979. The movie starred Bulbul Ahmed and Shuchorita. The titular role was played by John Napier Adams, a long-term American expatriate and IT consultant for USAID in Bangladesh. This is one of the few instances of a non-Bangladeshi playing a major role in a domestic film. The film gave rise to two hit songs: "Ami Ki Gaibe Gaan" and "Aye Khuku Aye".His depiction of a foreigner father raising an adopted child with Bangladeshi culture and values was critically acclaimed and still remembered. It is stated in the movie that the story is based on John Napier Adams's own life.
