Economic Club Of Canada
The Economic Club of Canada is a non-partisan speaker’s forum based in Canada, and modelled on American societies such as the Economic Club of New York, or the Economic Club of Pittsburgh, although the latter organizations are not-for-profit. The Canadian organization meets three times a week and provides a platform for policy makers and business leaders. Notable former speakers have included John Tory, Bill Clinton, Kathleen Wynne, Mike Savage and John McCallum. It markets itself as a business elite organization that can turn events around quickly, thus making its events more timely and newsworthy. Members are drawn from the business, industry and finance sectors. Speeches are typically held in the modern hotels in various cities over the lunch hour. Roger Martin (professor)
Roger Martin (born 4 August 1956) is the former Dean of the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto from 1998 to 2013 and an author of several business books. Martin has expanded several important business concepts in use today, including integrative thinking. He has been recognized by several business publications as one of the field's most important thinkers. Mark Adler (politician)
Mark Adler (born March 17, 1962) is a former Canadian politician. He was a Conservative member of the House of Commons of Canada from 2011 to 2015. He represented the Toronto riding of York Centre. Background Adler attended William Lyon Mackenzie Collegiate Institute, graduating in 1981. He graduated from the University of Toronto in 1984 and Carleton University Graduate School of Public Administration in Ottawa. He worked for Canadian Institute of International Affairs and was a trade representative in the Government of Ontario's office in Boston, Massachusetts. John McCallum (born 9 April 1950) is a Canadian politician, economist, diplomat and former university professor. A former Liberal Member of Parliament ( MP), McCallum was the Canadian Ambassador to China from 2017 to 2019. He was asked for his resignation by Prime Minister Trudeau in 2019.
